REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 22, 1974 <br />REQUEST FOR BLOCK PARTY <br />The Board received a request from Thomas Sopko, on behalf of the <br />residents of East Monroe Street for permission to hold their annual <br />block party on August 10, 1974 from 6:00 p.m. to midnight. Upon <br />motion made, seconded and carried, the request was referred to the <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for review and recommendation. <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES APPROVED <br />Upon the recommendation of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, it <br />was moved, seconded and carried that the installation.of Stop Signs <br />on Crest at Southeast Drive and on. Crest at Altgeld Street be - <br />approved. <br />REPORT ON NO TURN ON RED SIGNAGE <br />The Board received a report from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />listing the criteria used in selecting intersections in the City <br />where signs should be posted "No Turn on Red". Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the report was ordered filed. <br />CD <br />RECOMMENDATION FOR RELOCATION OF BUS STOP <br />WThe following recommendation was received by the Board: <br />"The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, through verbal and <br />written correspondence with the Public Transportation <br />Corporation, have discussed the probability of relocating <br />the Main Street court house bus stop to the Bus Terminal <br />Lot. This relocation would be: <br />1. Place all inbound buses at one terminal <br />2. Place the central transfer point at one terminal. <br />3. Eliminate the parking-unparking movement of an <br />on -street bus stop. <br />4. 'Provide 6 parking meters in the former bus zone. <br />This Bureau is pleased to report that the Public Trans- <br />portation Corporation concurs with the relocation. The <br />P.T.C. requests that the move to the terminal lot commence <br />on Monday, July 29, 1974. The three routes affected are: <br />Rum Village, South -Side Mishawaka and Michigan. The P.T.C. <br />is posting notices in the buses notifying the public of the <br />move. <br />s/ Clem Hazinski to <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the recommendation was <br />ordered filed. <br />INSTALLATION OF PARKING METERS APPROVED <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting recommended to the Board that <br />six one -hour parking meters be installed on the north half of the <br />west side of the 100 block South Main Street. The installation <br />can be done after July 29, 1974. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried, the Board approved the installation of the parking meters. <br />CONTRACTOR'S BOND APPROVED - DEZSO HORVATH <br />Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, reported to the Board that <br />the continuation certificate for the Contractor's Bond of Derso <br />Horvath was properly executed and could be approved. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, the continuation certificate was approved <br />to l/l/75. <br />
