i~ 5 4 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 22, 1974 <br />2. A responsible committee member will sign for and <br />pick up the traffic cones and return them. A charge <br />will be made for any missing cones. <br />3. Barricades will be delivered to the locations indicated <br />on the drawing and they will be set up by the committee <br />members and removed and stacked at the edge of the walk <br />when the affair is over. <br />4. Meter hoods will be placed by members of the Committee on <br />Saturday night and removed upon completion of the event. <br />All barricades and other materials needed will be furnished <br />by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. <br />Mr. Douglas Simpson, Director of the Bicentennial Village, was <br />present. Mr. Simpson said the Legal Department requirement of <br />$500,000 property damage on the Insurance Certificate was presenting <br />a problem since it will require approval by Lloyds of London and <br />there is a time element involved. There was a discussion with <br />Deputy City Attorney Kathleen Cekanski regarding the insurance <br />requirements. Miss Cekanski said she had discussed the matter <br />with Ralph Muszynski who is the City insurance carrier and these <br />were his recommendations. The Board requested that Miss Cekanski <br />work with the Auto Club regarding the insurance. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the Board approved the Gymkhana on August <br />4, subject to the stipulations in the recommendation of the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting and to coordination with the Legal Department <br />regarding the insurance coverage. <br />FILING OF PETITION TO VACATE A PORTION OF COLFAX AND AN ALLEY <br />The O'Brien Corporation, by its Attorney Francis Jones, files a <br />petition to vacate Colfax Avenue from Jackson Street west to <br />the first north-south.alley and the north -south alley from Orange <br />Street to Washington between Brookfield and Jackson. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, the petition was referred to the <br />Bureau of Engineering for preliminary review and recommendation. <br />RECOMMENDATION RE: PETITION TO VACATE A PORTION OF SUNNYMEDE AVE. <br />The Bureau of Design and Administration reported to the Board that <br />they had reviewed the petition to vacate a portion of Sunnymede <br />Avenue, filed by the Whitmore Corporation. They have no objections <br />to the vacation. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the <br />petition was referred to the Area Plan Commission for their <br />review and a public hearing. <br />PETITION TO CONSTRUCT SANITARY SEWERS FILED <br />The Board received a petition signed by four property owners <br />requesting that sanitary sewers be constructed in Crest Manor, <br />Lots 60, 139, 140, 137, 138 and 61. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the petition was referred to .the Bureau of Engineering <br />for preliminary review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST FOR SEWERS ON WIDENER LANE RECEIVED <br />A request from John Abraham, 502 E. Widener Lane, for the con- <br />struction of sanitary sewers on Widener Lane was received and <br />has been referred to the Bureau of Engineering for preliminary <br />review and recommendation. <br />APPROVAL OF LEASE AGREEMENT FOR LAGOON K <br />The Board received a Lease Agreement with the East Side Little League <br />for the use of Lagoon K for girls soft ball. The lease was pre- <br />pared by the Legal Department and is for a three year period, at <br />$1.00 per year. Charles F. Lennon, Jr. signed the lease on behalf <br />of the Little League. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the <br />Lease Agreement was approved. <br />
