REGULAR MEETING JULY 15, 1974 <br />REQUEST FOR TENT SERVICES APPROVED <br />The Board received a request from the Berean Seventh Day Adventist <br />Church to hold tent services at the southwest corner of Linden <br />Avenue and Johnson Streets from July 20 through August 17. Forrest <br />West, Building Commissioner, recommended to the Board that such <br />services could be held, subject to the requirements of the Building <br />Department and the Fire Department. Mr. Bellinger, Pastor of the <br />Church was present and the Board asked him about parking. Mr. Bellinger <br />explained.that they will use the church parking lot which is nearby <br />and they also have permission to use vacant lots for parking. He <br />said the church does have liability insurance to cover the services. <br />He was asked to furnish the Board with a copy of.the insurance certificate. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the. -:Board approved the tent <br />services, subject to Mr. Bellinger furnishing a copy of the Insurance <br />Certificate and subject also to compliance with all requirements of <br />the Fire Department and the Building Department. <br />CLOSING OF ALLEY FOR WILLIAM.PENN CLUB PICNIC APPROVED <br />© The Board received a recommendation from Clem Hazinski,. Manager of <br />the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, that the alleys to the rear of <br />the William Penn Club at 1024 W. Indiana Avenue on Saturday, July <br />20th beginning at noon for a picnic. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried, the Board approved the recommendation. <br />STUDEBAKER DRIVERS CLUB PARADE APPROVED <br />The Board received the following recommendation from Clem Hazinski, <br />Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting: <br />"A request by the Studebaker Drivers Club to hold a parade <br />of Studebaker vehicles through River Bend Plaza (on July <br />19, 1974) was referred to this Bureau. <br />Approval is recommended to parade the vehicles with police <br />escort from the Ramada Inn on city streets to Jefferson, <br />then east to St. Joseph, north on St. Joseph to Washington, <br />then west where vehicles could be displayed in the area of <br />the super -graphics". <br />Since the plaza is strictly pedestrian oriented with limited <br />visibility to those pedestrians, especially small children, <br />it is recommended that with the exception of emergency and <br />maintenance vehicles that all vehicular traffic, especially <br />parade types, be prohibited from using the sidewalks and <br />fire lane in the plaza from Western Avenue to Jefferson Blvd. <br />I met with the Police Captain and he states that he concurs <br />with this recommendation. <br />s/ Clem Hazinski If <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the <br />recommendation. <br />BIKE RALLY APPROVED <br />The Board received the following recommendation from Clem Hazinski, <br />Manager, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting: <br />"A request to hold a bike rally in the River Bend Plaza <br />was referred to this Bureau for recommendation. This <br />event is to take place on July 27, 1974. <br />It is recommended that because of the great number of <br />
