Such bike riding is difficult to control <br />and a hazardous condition would result especially to <br />youngsters who are allowed more freedom in this area by their <br />parents who feel it is safe. <br />It is recommended that the super -graphics area be used for <br />assembly and start of the tours. <br />I met with the Captain of Polce and he readily concurred <br />with this recommendation. <br />s/ Clem Hazinski <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the <br />recommendation. <br />REQUEST TO ATTEND CONFERENCE APPROVED <br />The Board received a request from Forrest West to attend the <br />Executive Committee Meeting of the Council of American Building <br />Officials in New Orleans, Louisiana on July 18-19, 1974. The <br />trip will not be at the expense of the City of South Bend. Upon <br />motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request. <br />PERFORMANCE BOND APPROVED <br />The Performance Bond filed by the Rieth-Riley Construction Company <br />for the Angela Boulevard -North Michigan Intersection Improvements <br />and Signal Modernization was received and, upon.motion made, seconded <br />and carried, was approved by!the Board. <br />BONDS APPROVED <br />The Board received a recommendation from Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau <br />of Engineering, that the following bonds were in proper form and <br />could be approved: <br />Continuation.Certificate for the Contractor's <br />Bond for Willie's Construction Company to 6/17/75 <br />Contractor's Bond for Van Overberghe Builders, Inc. <br />to 7/2/75 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the <br />bonds to the dates listed. <br />SIGNING OF TITLE SHEET - MIAMI-RIDGEDALE SIGNALIZATION <br />The Title Sheet approving the plans for the Miami-Ridgedale <br />Signalization project was submitted to the Board. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the Board signed the title sheet approving <br />the plans. <br />REQUEST TO ALLOW PARKING ON LINCOLNWAY EAST APPROVED <br />The Board received a request from Mrs. Marie Leddy, owner of the <br />Potpourri, to allow parking on Lincolnway East (U.S. 33) on <br />August 3 and 4 for their Seventh Annual Art Fair. Mrs. Leddy <br />indicated that she had contacted the State Highway Department and <br />they informed her they had no objection if the City did not. Upon <br />motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request to <br />allow parking on Lincolnway East, from Miami to Ironwood, on August <br />3 and 4, subject to coordination between the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting and the Police Department so that no tickets will be issued <br />on those days and to verification of the State's approval. <br />1 <br />1 <br />
