REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 15, 1974 <br />A regular meeting <br />9:30 a.m. with all <br />was also present. <br />and approved. <br />of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />members present. City Attorney James A. Roemer <br />Minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed <br />OPENING OF BIDS - FIRE STATION NO. 4 <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for the construction of <br />the new Fire Station No. 4. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication <br />of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which <br />were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and <br />publicly read: <br />Muia Construction Company <br />1818 S. Muia, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a 5% bid bond accompanied the bid. <br />Bid was signed by Cecil E. Thompson, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in order, <br />and a 5% bid bond accompanied the bid. <br />Bid was signed by F. H. Macumber, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in order, <br />and a 5% bid bond accompanied the bid. <br />Bid was signed by Lyle D.. Burnside, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in order, <br />and a 5% bid bond accomanied the bid. <br />Bid was signed by John P. Schumacher, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a 5% bid bond accompanied the bid. <br />Bid was signed by Harold G. Reinke, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a 5% bid bond accompanied the bid. <br />Bid was signed by Norris N. Emmons, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in order, <br />and a 5% bid bond accompanied the bid. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bids were referred to <br />the Department of Engineering for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST FOR GYMNKHANA <br />The Board received a request from the Michiana Auto Club to hold a <br />Gymnkhana (Obstacle Course) on Aug. 28 on Washington Street. The <br />Club requested that parking be banned on Saturday evening on <br />Washington Street and that barricades and traffic cones be set up <br />for the actual drive on Sunday, Aug. 28. Mr. Philip.Edelsberg,: <br />Chairman of the Event, was present with Louis Wilcox, Director of <br />River Bend Plaza, and Douglas Simpson, Director of the Bicentennial <br />Village activities. A Certificate of Insurance from the Auto�Club <br />was submitted to the Board. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, <br />the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for <br />review and recommendation. <br />
