52 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 25, 1974 <br />AREA PLAN RECOMMENDATION ON PETITION TO VACATE THE NORTH -SOUTH ALLEY NORTH <br />FROM MISHAWAKA AVENUE TO THE G.T.W.R.R. <br />The Board received a favorable recommendation from the Area Plan Commission on <br />the petition of Charles Burkhart to vacate the 14' alley extending from the north <br />line of Mishawaka Avenue north along and immediately west of the west line of <br />Lot 715 in Whitcomb & Keller's Sunnymede Third Addition to northwesterly corner <br />of said Lot 715. Thence northeasterly along and immediately northerly of the <br />northerly line of Lot Nos. 715, 716, 717, 718,.719, 720 and 721 in said addition <br />to the northeast corner of said Lot 721 and the west line of the first north - <br />south alley. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the petition was referred <br />to the Division of Engineering for preparation of the Vacation Resolution. <br />APPROVAL OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon the favorable recommendation of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, the <br />following traffic control devices were approved: <br />A. Removal of parking meters, 400 block North Lafayette, West Side, - <br />This will not lessen the number of meters, as they will be relocated. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the <br />removal of the meters. <br />B. Installation of Stop Signs on Kalorama Street at St. Louis. New <br />pavement and increased traffic at this intersection warrants the <br />installation. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board <br />approved the installation. <br />REQUEST FOR WALKATHON <br />The Board received a request from the American Freedom from Hunger Foundation <br />to hold a Walkathon on Saturday, September 21, 1974. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and the Civil Defense Department for review and recommendation. <br />LETTER FROM EUGENE RADECK RE: CITY SERVICES FOR MIAMI HILLS APARTMENT AREA <br />The Board received a letter from Eugene Radecki asking that citv services,, <br />such <br />as snow removal, bus service and.street lighting be provided for the Miami Hills <br />Apartment area. There was a discussion as to.whether these streets are dedicated <br />streets. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the letter was referred to the <br />proper City departments and the Public Transportation Company for review. <br />FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE <br />A Certificate of Insurance for Tonn and Blank, Inc. was received by the Board <br />and, upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Certificate was ordered filed. <br />APPROVAL OF BONDS <br />Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, recommended to the Board that the <br />following bonds were properly executed and could be approved: <br />Excavation Bond for Sand Excavating Company to 3/4/75 <br />Contractor's Bond for Bud's Concrete Contractor to 4/10/75 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bonds were approved to the dates <br />listed. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period of March 14 through March 20, 1974 <br />was received and ordered filed. <br />
