C.1-) <br />REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 23, 197-6 <br />CERTIFICATES OF SUBSTANTIAL C014PLETION APPROVED FOR ISLAND <br />PARK AND WHITE WATER WAY <br />Patrick M..McMahon, Manager of the Bureau of Public Construction, <br />submitted.to the Board Certificates of Substantial Completion for <br />the construction of White Water Way and Island Park by the Hickey <br />Company, Inc. Mr. McMahon reported to the Board that the work <br />on Island Park and White Water Way are substantially complete. <br />Mr. Brunner -asked who would be responsible for Island Park <br />maintenance and Mr. McMahon said the Park Department would now <br />assume maintenance. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by <br />Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board approved the Certificates of <br />Substantial Completion for White Water Way and Island Park. <br />CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE FILED - LA FREE EXCAVATING COMPANY <br />A standard Certificate of Insurance was filed with the Board by <br />LaFree Excavating Company. The certificate was reviewed by Deputy <br />City Attorney Georgia Luks who recommended it be accepted by <br />the Board. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner <br />and carried, the certificate was ordered filed. <br />BOND RELEASE FOR CARL REINKE & SON TABLED <br />A request for release of the contractor's bond of Carl Reinke & Son <br />was received. Upon the recommendation of David Wells, Manager of <br />Bureau of Design and Administration, the request was tabled untd:1 <br />receipt of a new bond for Reinke & Son. <br />cc <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT -FILED <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period of August 16 through <br />20 was received. The report indicated 9 outages. Upon motion made <br />by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the report was <br />ordered filed. <br />STREET LIGHT INSTALLATIONS APPROVED <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />recommended to the Board the replacement of four street lights <br />with 20,000L MV lights and the installation of one 20,000L MV OH WP <br />and six 7,000L MV OH WP in the immediate vicinity of St. Joseph's <br />Hospital. The recommendation reflects an additional billing per <br />month of $45.90 and an additional billing per year of .$550.80. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr..Mullen and carried, the <br />recommendation was approved. <br />RECOMMENDATION FOR TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES,APPROVED <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager. of the.Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />submitted to the Board the following recommendations for traffic <br />control devices: <br />To provide controlled, yet free parking in an area which nets very <br />low monthly income per month: <br />1. Removal of meters 2 through 16 in the 800 block S. Michigan <br />and installation of one hour controlled parking zone, 6 a.m. <br />to 6 p.m. <br />2. Removal of meters 1 and 17, 800 block S.- Michigan and <br />installation of fifteen minute controlled parking zone, 6 a.m.. <br />to 6 p.m. <br />3. Removal of meters 2,3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 11, 13, 15, 17 and 19 in <br />the 900 block S. Michigan and installation of one hour controlled <br />parking zone, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. <br />4. Removal of meters 2 through 11, 1100 block S. Michigan and <br />installation of one hour parking zone, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. <br />
