REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 16, 1976 BLOCK PARTY APPROVED - PARKVIEW PLACE Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, reported to the Board that he had.reviewed the request of Mrs. G. S. Veatch to hold a block party in the 2200.block Parkview Place on Saturday, August 21 from 4:00 p.m. until midnight. Mr. Wadzinski said he discussed the request with Captain James Sweitzer of the Police Department Traffic Detail,. and they have no objection to the closing, subject to the requirements of the Board. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the application was approved, subject to the filing of the necessary insurance certificate. STREET CLOSING APPROVED LA SALLE PARK CONCERT Ralph J. Wadzinski,_ Manager -of the 'Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, reported,to the Board that he had reviewed the request of the LaSalle Athletic & Action -Program to close Washington Street, from Falcon to Dundee Street, and the streets and alleys entering onto Washington Street, on Sunday, August 22 from 2:O0 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., in connection with a Community Concert. Mr. Wadzinski said he had conferred with the Police Department and they concur that C" approval can be given. Barricades will be delivered to the site. Upon motion made -by Mr. Farrand, seconded�by Mr. Mullen and carried, the closing was approved. REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL STREET LIGHTING ON KENT LANE RECEIVED The Board received a request from Council President Roger Parent that consideration be given to additional street lighting on Kent Lane. It was noted that the Board received a previous request for such lighting from area residents and that request is now being studied. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the request was filed and referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for review and recommendation. LETTER RE: TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT MC KINLEY AND MANCHESTER Council President Roger Parent submitted to the Board a letter in support of the requests of residents of McKinley Terrace that a traffic signal be installed at McKinley and Manchester. Mr. Farrand noted that this is a State Highway and the intersection has been studied in the past. The warrants for signal installation set by the Indiana State Highway Department have not been met. The inter- section is being investigated again, with traffic counts taken, and the results of that study will be submitted to the Board and to the State Highway Commission. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the letter was ordered filed and referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. Mr. Parent will be advised of the study presently being made. STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED The Street Light Outage Report for the 13 was received. The report indicated motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by the report was ordered filed. BOND RELEASED - RONALD DHAEZE period of August 9 through eighteen outages. Upon Mr. Mullen and carried, The Board received a request from Insurance Company of North America to release the Contractor's Bond of Ronald L. Dhaeze. Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, reported to the Board that he reviewed the request and there are no outstanding claims or permits against this bond. He recommended release. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the bond of Ronald Dhaeze was released effective August 16, 1976.
