REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 16, 1976 <br />BLOCK PARTY APPROVED - PARKVIEW PLACE <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting, reported to the Board that he had.reviewed the request <br />of Mrs. G. S. Veatch to hold a block party in the 2200.block <br />Parkview Place on Saturday, August 21 from 4:00 p.m. until <br />midnight. Mr. Wadzinski said he discussed the request with <br />Captain James Sweitzer of the Police Department Traffic Detail,. and they <br />have no objection to the closing, subject to the requirements <br />of the Board. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. <br />Mullen and carried, the application was approved, subject to the <br />filing of the necessary insurance certificate. <br />STREET CLOSING APPROVED LA SALLE PARK CONCERT <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski,_ Manager -of the 'Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />reported,to the Board that he had reviewed the request of the <br />LaSalle Athletic & Action -Program to close Washington Street, from <br />Falcon to Dundee Street, and the streets and alleys entering onto <br />Washington Street, on Sunday, August 22 from 2:O0 p.m. to 6:00 <br />p.m., in connection with a Community Concert. Mr. Wadzinski said <br />he had conferred with the Police Department and they concur that <br />C" approval can be given. Barricades will be delivered to the site. <br />Upon motion made -by Mr. Farrand, seconded�by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the closing was approved. <br />REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL STREET LIGHTING ON KENT LANE RECEIVED <br />The Board received a request from Council President Roger Parent <br />that consideration be given to additional street lighting on Kent <br />Lane. It was noted that the Board received a previous request <br />for such lighting from area residents and that request is now <br />being studied. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. <br />Mullen and carried, the request was filed and referred to the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting for review and recommendation. <br />LETTER RE: TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT MC KINLEY AND MANCHESTER <br />Council President Roger Parent submitted to the Board a letter in <br />support of the requests of residents of McKinley Terrace that a <br />traffic signal be installed at McKinley and Manchester. Mr. Farrand <br />noted that this is a State Highway and the intersection has been <br />studied in the past. The warrants for signal installation set by <br />the Indiana State Highway Department have not been met. The inter- <br />section is being investigated again, with traffic counts taken, and <br />the results of that study will be submitted to the Board and to the <br />State Highway Commission. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded <br />by Mr. Mullen and carried, the letter was ordered filed and <br />referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. Mr. Parent will <br />be advised of the study presently being made. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the <br />13 was received. The report indicated <br />motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by <br />the report was ordered filed. <br />BOND RELEASED - RONALD DHAEZE <br />period of August 9 through <br />eighteen outages. Upon <br />Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />The Board received a request from Insurance Company of North <br />America to release the Contractor's Bond of Ronald L. Dhaeze. <br />Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, reported to the Board <br />that he reviewed the request and there are no outstanding claims <br />or permits against this bond. He recommended release. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the bond <br />of Ronald Dhaeze was released effective August 16, 1976. <br />
