REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 16, 1976 <br />REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FORFIRE DEPARTMENT''CLOTHING TABLED <br />Fire Chief Robert L. Snider submitted to the Board a request -to <br />advertise for bids for rubber turnout coats and bunker trousers for <br />fire fighters. These items are paid for through the clothing <br />allowance. There was some discussion. regarding the necessity for <br />seeking bids for the purchase. Chief Snider said the total purchase <br />will amount to more than $4,000 and the Legal Department has written <br />an opinion that the items should be bid. Mr. -Mullen noted that the <br />City would be acting as agent for the Tien in making these purchases <br />and said, since the City would be required to buy from the low bidder, <br />this might not be the supplier the individuals want -to order their <br />clothing from. Mr. Farrand concurred that the matter should be <br />reviewed with the City Attorneys office. Upon motion made by Mr. <br />Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the matter was tabled <br />until August 23. <br />FILING OF ASSESSMENT'ROLL -VACATION RESOLUTION 140. 3429 <br />Rollin E. Farrand,- City Engineer, files an Assessment Roll for <br />Vacation Resolution No. 3429 for the vacation of a portion of Bryan <br />Street and portions of two alleys, as follows: part of the east - <br />west alley -south of Beale Street, running from the east right-of-way <br />line of Cushing Street to the east line of the north -south alley <br />between Beale and Roosevelt Streets, and part of the north -south alley <br />east of Cushing Street running north from the north right-of-way <br />line of Roosevelt Street to the south line of the east -west alley <br />between Cushing Street and Riverside Streets. The following <br />property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such <br />vacation: Lots 238, 239, 246, 247 and 264 of Part of the Northwest <br />Thirt Plat and Lot 262 of Part of Northwest Fourth Plat. <br />The Board finds that each of said lots have been benefited in the <br />amount of $0.00 and damaged in the amount of $0.00. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the Assessment Roll was filed and a public hearing was set for <br />Monday, September 20, 1976 at 9:30 a.m. <br />REQUESTS TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY RECEIVED <br />The Board received the following requests to purchase city -owned <br />property: <br />1. Marion 11. Donaldson regarding the city -owned lot at 1350 <br />E. Sorin Street. <br />2. Southold Heritage Foundation regarding the city -owned lot <br />at 814 Forest Avenue <br />3. Mr. & Mrs. Pasquale Rulli regarding the city -owned lot at <br />748 Diamond Avenue. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and <br />carried, the requests were filed and referred to the Department <br />of Engineering, Department of Redevelopment and Park Department <br />for a review of the lots to determine whether they should be <br />retained for any purpose. <br />RIVER BEND PLAZA APPLICATION APPROVED <br />Ronald Bock, Director of River Bend Plaza, submitted to the Board <br />an application from the Career Planning Class to sponsor a booth <br />on River Bend Plaza -on August 19 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the <br />Board approved the application. <br />1 <br />
