REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 26, 1976 <br />BONDS RELEASED <br />David A. Wells, Manager of the Bureau of Design and Administration, <br />reported to the Board that requests for the release, of Contractor's <br />bonds for Gilbert Harwell and RWtI Construction Company had been <br />reviewed and the bonds could be released. Upon motion made by Mr. <br />Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the bonds were released <br />effective July 26, 1976. <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES APPROVED <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic anal Lighting, <br />recommended the following installations to`the Board: <br />A. Remove two hour parking zone at 719 N. Main Street <br />B. Establish No Parking Zone on the west side of 2000 S. Fellows <br />C. Establish No Parking Zone on the east side of 800 S. Wellington, <br />from Sample Street North approximately 135' to the alley <br />D. Remove two hour parking zone at 3602 W. Sample Street <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the recommendations were approved. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT'FILED <br />7� The Street Light outage report for the period of July 19 through <br />23 was received. The report indicated 25 items. Upon motion made <br />by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the report <br />was ordered filed. <br />LETTER OF TERMI14ATION TO CLYDE WILLIAMS APPROVED <br />Mr. Farrand reported that Deputy City Attorney Georgia Luks had <br />reviewed for the Board the matter of terminating the contract <br />with C1yde.Williams & Associates entered into on December 11, 1972 <br />for engineering services for storm separation in the Clyde Creek <br />area. Mr. Farrand had recommended to the Board that the contract <br />be terminated. He said since this contract was entered into there <br />have been any number of changes and the City feels these changes <br />should be included in any future contracts. Mrs. Luks recommended <br />to the Board that, since the contract does not specify any,basis for <br />computing terminal expense, a letter should be sent to Clyde Williams <br />and Associates advising them that the City wishes to terminate the <br />contract and asking whether there is any terminal expense involved. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the Board signed a letter outlining the above recommendations to be <br />sent to Clyde Williams & Associates. <br />REQUEST TO BARRICADE ALLEY APPROVED <br />The Board received a request from Mrs. Virginia Hull of the Y.W.C.A. <br />asking that the alley at the rear of the Y.W.C.A. Building at <br />802 N. Lafayette Street be barricaded on Wednesday, July 28 from <br />9:30 a.m, to 3:30 p.m. A water carnival will be conducted for <br />pre-schoolers and they would like to keep vehicles out of the alley. <br />Ralph Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />reported to the Board that he saw no problems with the closing and <br />would order the barricades delivered. Upon motion made by Mr. <br />Farrand, seconded by tor. Mullen and carried, the Board approved the <br />request. <br />SOUTHEAST ALLEYS MAINTENANCE REQUEST DISCUSSED <br />Mr. Farrand noted that the Board had received a request from R. <br />Benjamin Johnson to have the alleys in the southeast area of the <br />City oiled and graded. Mr. Farrand said Joseph Gawrysiak, Street <br />Commissioner, had reviewed Mr. Johnson's request and indicated that <br />extensive work has been done in that area. There are some problem <br />alleys that they have had difficulty getting into. Mr. Gawrysiak <br />asked that the Board request Mr. Johnson to advise them of the specific <br />alleys he is complaining about so that the Street Department can <br />dispatch equipment to specific alley locations.
