,,w <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 26, 1976 <br />Guard, Navy or Marine Corps, whio'were either residents of South <br />Bend at the time they were in the service or were living in South <br />Bend at the time of their death, and whose relatives or friends <br />may apply for such burial. Said ground as above specified shall not <br />be under the jurisdiction of any military, semi -military, or other <br />organization, but entirely under the supervision of the Sexton of the <br />City Cemetery. <br />The Sexton shall permit the burial of anyone claiming to be a <br />soldier or sailor only on presentation of the soldier's or sailor's <br />discharge or certification of one of the heads of the various <br />military organizations at the time in existence. <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />BY ITS BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/ Rollin E. WASHES <br />The contract with Ili -Speed Auto Wash for car washes for city <br />vehicles was prepared by Deputy City Attorney Georgia Luks <br />and submitted to Hi -Speed Auto Wash for signature. Bids for <br />the contract were accepted by the Board on May.24, 1976. The <br />signed contract has now been returned to the Board, and is ready <br />for their signatures. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded <br />by Mr. Mullen and carried, the contract was approved and signed. <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED LOT AT 720 WENGER RECEIVED <br />The Board received an inquiry from Mrs. Emery Horvath regarding <br />the possible purchase of a city -owned lot at 720 E. Wenger St. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the request was referred to the Department of Engineering, <br />the Department of Redevelopment and the Park Department for their <br />review and a determination as to whether or not the lot should be <br />retained by the City. <br />RIVER BEND PLAZA APPLICATIONS APPROVED <br />Ronald Bock, Director of River Bend Plaza submitted the following <br />applications for the Plaza to the Board: <br />A. South Bend Chess Club, Display Only, on July 30 and 31 <br />B. Head Start Program, Display Only, on August 5 <br />C. United Way -Community Child Care, Display Only, on August 2 <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and <br />carried, the applications were approved. <br />An application for The Plant Market for a sales booth on July 30 <br />and 31 was received. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by <br />Mr. Brunner and carried,.the application was approved subject to <br />securing the necessary license and insurance. <br />1 <br />
