7 <br />REGULAR IIEET I14G JULY 26, 1976 <br />PLAT OF DEDICATION OF YORK ROAD,EXTENSION.APPROVED <br />A plat of dedication for a.portion.of York Road, south of Georgian <br />Drive in Southeast Estates, was submitted to the Board, along <br />with a Certificate of Deposit in the anount-of $5,000 as surety <br />for the completion of_ the street. Mr. Farrand noted that this <br />was a part of York Road which has never been completed. Jack Hickey <br />and Portage Realty Corporation are responsible for the completion <br />of the project. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. <br />Brunner and carried, the Board approved the plat of dedication and <br />accepted and filed the Certificate of Deposit. The dedication <br />will now be recorded. <br />BID REJECTED - POLICE DEPARTlIE14T BOMB DISPOSAL TRUCK <br />The Board received a report from Chief Michael Borkowski that <br />the bid received for the.bomb disposal truck has been reviewed. <br />It is his recommendation that the bid be rejected as being too low <br />and the truck be sold as salvage to Super Auto Salvage for <br />$250.00. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen <br />and carried, the Board approved the recommendation of Chief <br />Borkowski and rejected the bid received and ordered the disposal of <br />the truck to Super Auto Salvage for $250.00. <br />RECOMMENDATION FILED - PETITION TO VACATE ALLEY BET14EEN KENMORE <br />AND FALCON STREETS <br />The Area Plan Commission reported to the Board that a public hearing <br />was held on the petition of William Tuberville and the Department <br />of Redevelopment to vacate the Eighteen Foot East-West Alley <br />between Kenmore Street and Falcon Street, North of Washington Street, <br />being the center Eighteen Feet of former Colfax Avenue, which was <br />vacated under Resolution No. 2610, excepting the alley intersection. <br />The Commission recommended the petition favorably to the Board. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the recommendation was ordered filed and the petition was referred <br />to the Department of Engineering -for preparation•of the Vacation <br />Resolution. <br />ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 25 - CITY CEMETERY POLICY <br />Mr. Farrand noted that the Board has had under advisement a proposal <br />to establish the policy for burial of veterans at City Cemetery. <br />Deputy City Attorney Georgia Luks reported to the Board that she <br />had reviewed the proposed resolution regarding this policy and <br />recommended that the Board adopt it. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, <br />seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the following resolution was <br />adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 25, 1976 <br />BE IT RESOLVED: That a strip of ground in the City Cemetery <br />described as follows: <br />Beginning at the easterly corner of Lot No. 490 in the <br />Third Addition 3 West, thence southeasterly across the <br />Old Mill Pace to the easterly corner of Lot No. 406 <br />in the Third Addition 3 West; thence westerly along the <br />north line of said Lot No. 406 to the edge of the Old Mill <br />Race; thence southwesterly along the edge of the Old Mill <br />Pace to the northwest corner of Lot No. 418 of the Third <br />Addition 3 West; thence northerly across the Old Mill Race <br />to the southwest corner of Lot No. 481; thence northeasterly <br />along the edge of the Old Mill Pace to the easterly corner <br />of Lot No. 490, the place of beginning. <br />This same, being a part of the City Cemetery of South Bend, Indiana, <br />be set aside for the burial of any deceased soldier or sailor <br />honorably discharged from the United States Army, Air Force, Coast <br />
