David Wells, Manager of the Bureau of Design
and Administration advised the Board that this section of Prairie
Avenue was inadvertently omitted from the two annexation ordinances
involving this area. One ordinance listed a legal description
beginning at the north right of way line of Prairie Avenue and the
second ordinance showed a legal description beginning at the south
right of way line of Prairie Avenue, thus excluding the street from
the ordinances. 11r. Farrand also noted that the street is State
Road 23 and is under the jurisdiction of the Indiana State -Highway
Commission. Any change'ain the posted speed limit would need the
approval of the State. The present speed limit is 45 miles per
hour. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and
carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and
Lighting for immediate contact with the State Highway Commission
regarding the reduced speed limit. A report will be made to the
Board.
STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED
The Street Light Outage report for the period of June 7 through 11
was received.
