REGULAR MEETING MAY 24. 1976 <br />of the Bureau of Traffic aril Lighting;, for the installation of <br />yield signs on Arrowhead Drive at Summit Ridge. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board <br />approved the installation. <br />LETTER FILED RE: PARKING AT`5240 MIAMI ROAD <br />Mr. Farrand reported to the Board that, at the public hearing <br />held by the Board on the Miami sidewalk project, a complaint was <br />received regarding parking at 5240 Miami. Mr. Farrand said a <br />letter was sent the owner of the property asking for cooperation <br />in resolving the problem. A letter was received from Attorney <br />Jack C. Dunfee, Jr., representing the owner, Tad, Inc., advising <br />Mr. Farrand that the property owner is willing to cooperate to <br />eliminate the problem. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded <br />by Mr. Mullen and carried, the letter was ordered filed. <br />RECOMMENDATION FILED - PETITION`TO VACATE A PORTION OF BRYAN <br />STREET AND TWO ALLEYS <br />The Area Plan Commission reported to the Board that a public hearing <br />was held on the petition of the South Bend Community School <br />Corporation to vacate a portion of Bryan Street and two alleys. <br />The Plan Commission has recommended the petition favorably to the <br />Board, with the following additional recommendation: "That the <br />remainder of the east -west alley south of Beale Street and the <br />L shaped alley north of Bryan Street also be vacated". Mr. Farrand <br />made a motion that the Board file the recommendation and refer the <br />W petition to the Bureau of Design and Administration for preparation <br />of the vacation resolution and for their comments regarding the <br />additional recommendation of the Area Plan Commission. The <br />motion was seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried. <br />REPORT FILED - PETITION TO VACATE EAST -WEST ALLEY BETWEEN KENMORE <br />AND FALCON STREETS, NORTH OF WASHINGTON STREET <br />The Board 'received a report from the Department of Engineering that <br />the petition of William Tuberville.and the Department of Redevelop- <br />ment to vacate the`18' wide east -west alley between Kenmore and <br />Falcon Streets, north of Washington Street (being the right-of=way <br />of the former Colfax Avenue), excepting from the vacation the <br />alley intersection, had been reviewed and the Department has no <br />objection to the vacation, There are no utilities in the proposed <br />vacated area. The Department of Redevelopment recommended to the <br />Board that the vacation be granted. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the reports were ordered filed <br />and the petition was referred to the Area Plan Commission for <br />review and a public hearing. <br />BONDS APPROVED <br />Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, reported to the Board <br />that the following bonds had been properly executed and could be <br />approved: <br />Excavation Bond for Ziolkowski Construction Company to 4/30/77 <br />Contractor's Bond for Ziolkowski Construction Company to 4/30/77 <br />Excavation Bond for Powers Plumbing & Heating Company to 12/31/76 <br />Contractor's Bond for Engle Construction Company to'5/19177 <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the bonds were approved to the dates listed. <br />
