REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 171 1976 <br />OPENING OF BIDS - HEAVY DUTY TRUCKFOR BUREAU OF STREETS <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for one Heavy Duty <br />Single Axle Truck for the Bureau of Streets. The Clerk tendered <br />proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and <br />the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following <br />bids were opened and publicly read: <br />Shamrock Ford Company Bid was signed by B. S. Tinkham, <br />4707 W. Western Avenue non -collusion affidavit was,in order <br />South Bend, Indiana and a 10% bid bond was submitted. <br />Bid - One 1976 Ford F700 Dump Truck $9,535.79 <br />Trade-in allowance.. 60.00 <br />Net Bid $9,475.78 <br />International Harvester Bid was signed by P. J. Irwin, <br />South Bend, Indiana non -collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a Treasurer's Check in the amount <br />of $1025.00 was submitted. <br />Bid - One 1977 International 1600 Truck $10,291.56 <br />Trade-in Allowance 250.00 <br />Net Bid W,041.56 <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and <br />carried, the bids were referred to the Bureau of Streets for <br />review and recommendation. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - CAR WASHES FOR CITY VEHICLES <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for car washes for <br />City vehicles from June 1, 1976 through May 31, 1977. The <br />Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend <br />Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. <br />Mr. Farrand indicated that the Board had sought car washes bids <br />previously but had rejected the bids and readvertised. Notices <br />were sent to prospective bidders in an attempt to encourage more <br />bidding. The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />Waggoner's Fuel Company, Inc. Bid was signed by C. W. Waggoner, <br />1402 Kessler Blvd. non -collusion affidavit was in <br />order and a $100.00 certified.check <br />was submitted. <br />Bid - Wet Wash Only, 0-100 units per month - $1.25 each <br />Comet Car Wash Bid was signed by Stephen A. Shaw, <br />1804 Lincolnway West non -collusion affidavit was in <br />South Bend, Indiana order and a $350.00 certified check <br />was submitted. <br />Bid - Full Service Car Wash - 0-100 units per month $1.75 <br />Full Service Car Wash - 100 or more units per mo. 1.60 <br />Wet Wash only - 0-100 units per month 1.25 <br />Wet [,rash only - 100 or more units per mo. 1.10 <br />Hi -Speed Auto Wash Bid was signed by Sam Cossman, <br />609 E. LaSalle non -collusion affidavit was in <br />South Bend, Indiana order and a $700.00 certified check <br />was submitted. <br />Bid - Full Service Car Wash, 0-100 units per month $1.75 <br />Full Service Car Wash, 100 or more units per mo. 1.75 <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and <br />carried, the bids were referred to the Bureau of Vehicle Maintenance <br />for review and recommendation. <br />
