6A98 <br />REGULAR MEETING MAY,17, 1976 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:30 a.m, on Monday, May 17, 1976 by President Rollin E. Farrand <br />with Mr. Farrand,. Mr. Brunner and Mr. Mullen present. Deputy City <br />Attorney William Stanley was also present. <br />MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS APPROVED <br />Mr. Farrand noted that the minutes of the special meeting held on <br />May 3, 1976 had been reviewed and he made a motion that,the minutes <br />be approved as submitted. The motion was seconded by Mr. -Mullen <br />and carried. <br />Mr. Brunner made a motion that the minutes of the meeting of May <br />10, 1976 be approved as submitted. Mr. Mullen seconded the motion <br />and it carried. <br />OPENING OF BIDS POLICE DEPARTMENT TP:ATISCEIVERS <br />This was the date set for opening bids for 15 Police Department <br />Transceivers, The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice <br />in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News, which were found <br />to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly <br />read: <br />Meade Electric Company Bid was signed by Alan L. <br />2516 Home Street Shulman, non -collusion affidavit <br />Mishawaka, Indiana was in order and a 10% bid bond <br />was submitted. <br />Bid - 15 Portable Transceivers @ $1050.00 Total - $15,750.00 <br />RCA Bid was signed by S. T. McCartt <br />P. 0. Box L-1 non -collusion affidavit was in <br />Indianapolis, Indiana order and a 10% bid bond was <br />submitted. <br />Bid - 15 Portable Transceivers @ $955.40 Total - $14,331.00 <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried <br />the bids were referred to the Bureau of Police and Bureau of Communica- <br />tions for review and recommendation. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - ONE CAB A14D CHASSIS, BUP.EAU OF SOLID WASTE <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for one cab and chassis for <br />the Bureau of Solid Waste. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication <br />of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which <br />were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and <br />publicly read: <br />Shamrock Ford Company Bid was signed by Bradley S. <br />4707 W. Western Avenue Tinkham, non -collusion affidavit <br />South Bend, Indiana was in order and a 10% bid bond <br />was submitted. <br />Bid - $11,709.90 cab and chassis, trade-in $600 - Net-$11,109.90 <br />8,050.00 packer, trade-in $500. - Net-$ 7,550.00 <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the bid was referred to the Bureau of Solid Waste for review and <br />recommendation. <br />1 <br />
