REGULAR MEETING APRIL 5, 1976 <br />f� <br />POPPY SALES APPROVED - AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY <br />The Board received requests from the.Bendix Unit 284 and Pulaski <br />Post 357, American Legion Auxiliary, for their annual Poppy Days <br />Sale on Mav 21 and 22., 1976 on the public streets and sidewalks. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the installation was approved. <br />PARADE REQUEST RECEIVED - HOPE CHAPEL CHURCH OF GOD <br />The Board received a request from the Hope Chapel Church of God <br />for their Annual Vacation Bible School Parade to be held on <br />Saturday, June 5. A'suggested route was enclosed and they noted <br />that liability insurance will be filed. Upon motion made by <br />Mr. Farrand, seconded by Per. Brunner and carried, the request <br />was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for review and <br />for coordination by the Police Department Traffic Detail. <br />PARADE REQUEST RECEIVED - MAURICE 14ATHYS LITTLE LEAGUE <br />The Board received a request from the Maurice Mathys Little League <br />to hold an Opening Day Parade on May 15. They enclosed their <br />route and insurance coverage. Upon motion made by.Mr. Farrand, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the request was referred to <br />the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for review and for coordination <br />by the Police Department Traffic Detail. <br />PETITION FOR SIDEWALKS FILED - WEST ELWOOD AVENUE <br />The Board received petition forms signed by property owners <br />requesting the installation of sidewalks on West Elwood Avenue <br />from Woodbine Way to Woodland Avenue and then further west on <br />Edison Road, in the area of the new Jesse Dickinson Middle School.. <br />The petition was filed and, upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded <br />by Mr. Mullen and carried, referred to the Bureau of Design and <br />Administration for review and recommendation. <br />CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE FILED <br />A Certificate of Insurance for the Mental Health Center property <br />at 420 N. Frances Street was submitted to the Board. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner -and carried, the <br />certificate was ordered filed. <br />BOND APPROVED - KEITH 11. CARBIENER <br />Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, reported to the Board that <br />the continuation certificates for the Contractor's Bond of Keith <br />M. Carbiener were in proper form and could be approved. The , <br />certificates are effective to 5/14/76 and to 5/14/77. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the <br />bond continuations were approved to the dates listed. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE -REPORT <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period of March 30 through April <br />2 was received, and indicated eighteen outages. Upon motion made by <br />Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the report was <br />ordered filed. <br />RIVED. BEND PLAZA REQUEST APPROVED - SALUTE TO INDUSTRY <br />Douglas Simpson, Director, River Bend Plaza, submitted to the Board <br />a request from Dennis Woodka to hold a Bicentennial Salute to Industry <br />on August 19, 20 and 21. Mr. Woodka would like to use two floors <br />of the Colfax Parking Garage for a display. Mr. Simpson said Mr. <br />Woodka is aware that they must provide liability insurance and the <br />participants will be required to provide it. Mr. Simpson said he <br />would recommend that the fifth and sixth floors of the garage be <br />used and that any charge be waived since they will not be using the <br />entire garage.
