�s <br />3 <br />REGULAR MEETING MARCH 15, 1976 <br />BID ADVERTISING APPROVED - FIRE DEPARTMENT LOGGING TAPE RECORDER <br />Chief Robert L. Snider, Bureau of Fire, requested that the Board <br />advertise for bids for a logging tape recorder for his Department. <br />Detailed specifications for the equipment were submitted with the <br />request. Chief Snider said that the present equipment is not <br />functioning properly and said that here is money budgeted for the <br />purchase of this equipment. John Hunt Director of Communications, <br />was present and advised the Board that the equipment described <br />in these specifications will do a much better job for the City. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the Board approved the request and directed the. Clerk to advertise <br />for bids with sealed bids to be received on April 5, 1976. <br />BID ADVERTISING APPROVED - STREET DEPARTMENT TRUCKS AND SPREADERS <br />Mr. Farrand submitted to the Board specifications for two trucks and <br />hopper type spreaders for the Street Department. He made a motion <br />that the Board authorize the advertising for bids for the equipment. <br />The motion was seconded and was carried, and the Clerk was directed <br />to advertise for bids with sealed bids to be received on April 5, 1976. <br />RECOMMENDATION TO AWARD BID APPROVED - FIRE DEPARTMENT AMBULANCES <br />+, The Board received a recommendation from Chief Robert L. Snider that, <br />after a review of all bids received for the two Fire Department <br />modular ambulances, the bid of Butler Coach, Inc. be accepted, <br />including options and trade-in allowance, for a total net bid price <br />of $63,433.00. Chief Snider's recommendation noted that the other <br />bidders were not within the specifications and did not agree to <br />supply a loaner in case of major accident or mechanical failure which <br />Butler Coach did agree to do. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board awarded the bid for <br />two modular ambulances for the Fire Department to the Butler Coach <br />Company, Inc. for a total bid price, including options and trade-in <br />allowance, of $63,433.00. <br />ADOPTIO14 OF RESOLUTION NO. 8 - SALE OF CITY-OW14ED PROPERTY <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the following resolution was adopted: <br />RESOLUTION 110, 8, 1976 <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend <br />has compiled a current detailed inventory of all real <br />property owned by the City of South Bend, Indiana, <br />pursuant to Section 30 A-1 of the Municipal Code of <br />the City of South Bend; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works has reviewed said inventory <br />of real property and it now finds that certa ,Wf the <br />parcels of real estate now owned by the City are not' <br />necessary to the public use.and are not set aside by state <br />or city law for public purposes, pursuant to Section 30 <br />A-2 of the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public.Works now wishes to take the <br />necessary action to make it possible for the Board, in the <br />future, to sell said parcels of real estate pursuant to <br />Chapter 30A of the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works of the <br />City of South Bend, Indiana: <br />1. That the parcels of real estate owned by the City, contained <br />in the following list, are not necessary to the public use <br />and are not set aside by state or city law for public purposes: <br />
