REGULAR MEETING MARCH 15, 197 6 FORM OF CONTRACT WITH MICHIA14A MACK APPROVED Deputy City Attorney William Stanley submitted to`the Board a contract with Michiana Mack, Inc.•for three Fire Department pumpers. Mr. Stanley recommended that the Board approve the form of the contract and submit it to Michiana Mack for signature today. Upon motion made by I-fr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the contract was approved and will be submitted to Michiana Flack for signature. CHANGE IN CONTRACT FOR PUMPERS APPROVED The Board received a recommendation from Chief Snider that the following changes in the Fire Department pumper bid from Michiana Mack, Inc. be approved: 1. Make hose body portions higher and raise rear grab rail a corresponding amount 2. Move right cab seat back so eliminating the spare behind the seat, to give the rider more room. 3. Install two steps on rear of hose body, instead of one as specified. 4. Bend diamond plate on top of compartments 900 and weld corners. 5. One hose roller between booster reels: $63.00 per truck. 6. Circle D two -point compartment locks: $181.00 per truck. 7— Diamond plate aluminum on front of hose body removable for service access to pump. $285.00 per truck. Items 1 through 4 will be furnished at Michiana Mack's expense and items 5 through 7 will be furnished at a cost per truck of $529, or a total of $1587. Mr. Farrand noted that these changes will still make the total cost°fall within the budgeted appropriation. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand,•secon:ded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the change was approved. RECOMMENDATION TO AWARD BID - AIRPORT INDUSTRIAL PARK. PHASE IV The Board received a recommendation from Patrick 11. McMahon, Manager of the Bureau of Public Construction, that the bids for the Airport Industrial Park, Phase IV had been reviewed and found to be win order. A tabulation of bids was attached. Mr. 1161ahon recommended that the Board accept the low bid of Ritschard Brothers, Inc. to award a contract in the amount of their base bid of $1,403,666.75, conditioned upon the concurrence of the Economic Development Administration. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the recom- mendation was approved and the bid of Ritschard Brothers, Inc. of $1,403,666.75 for Airport Industrial Park, Phase IV, was accepted subject to the concurrence of the Economic Development Administration. PETITION TO VACATE PORTION OF BRYAN STREET AND THREE ALLEYS FILED The South ?lend Community School Corporation, by its Attorney Bruce Bancroft, files a petition to vacate a portion of Bryan Street and three alleys between Beale and Roosevelt Street in the Brown Middle School area. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the petition was filed and was referred to the Bureau of Design and Administration for review and recommendation.
