<br />non -collusion affidavit was in
<br />order and a 1070 bid bond was
<br />submitted.
<br />Base Bid - $23,456.78 — Trade-in Allowance $3,512.00
<br />Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and
<br />carried, the bids were referred to the Bureau of Fire for review.
<br />and recommendation.
<br />PUBLIC HEARING - ASSESSMENT ROLL, VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3425
<br />This being the date set for holding.a hearing on the Assessment Roll
<br />for Vacation Resolution No. 3425, 1975, hearing was held for the
<br />vacation of all streets and alleys located within the tract of
<br />land briefly described as follows: Beginning at the northwest
<br />corner of LOt 2 of the Elder Place Addition to the City of South
<br />Bend, thence easterly along the north lines extended of Lots 2
<br />through 19 inclusive to the northeast corner of said Lot 19 of the
<br />said addition; thence southerly along the east line extended of
<br />Lots 19, 35, 52 and 73 of the said addition to the southeast corner
<br />of Lot 73 of the said addition.; thence westerly along the south
<br />lines extended of Lots 56 through 73 inclusive to the southwest
<br />corner of Lot, 56 of the said addition; thence northerly along the
<br />west lines extended of Lots 56 and 2 to the northwest corner of Lot 2
<br />of the said addition and the point of beginning; all contained in the
<br />=� norhhwest one -quarter of Section 13, Township 37 North, Range 2E in the
<br />-�� City of South Bend, Portage Township, St. Joseph County, Vacated
<br />streets are portions of Paris and Elder Streets. The Clerk tendered
<br />proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and in
<br />the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. No remonstrators
<br />having appeared and no written remonstrances having been received, upon
<br />motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the
<br />Assessment Roll showing $0.00 net damages and $0.00 net benefits was
<br />approved and said Resolution is in all things ratified and confirmed
<br />and said proceedings closed.
<br />RECOMMENDATION TO AWARD VEHICLE BIDS APPROVED
<br />The Board received a recommendation from Chief Borkowski, Bureau of
<br />Police, that the vehicle bids had been reviewed and that he was
<br />recommending the following bid award:
<br />Class I - Basney Ford, low bidder for 27 vehicles at a unit price
<br />of $4,346.39. The Department wishes to retain two
<br />of the trade-ins, decreasing the trade-in allowance to
<br />$41,100.00. Total Net Bid, 27 vehicles, $76,252.53
<br />Class II - Freeman Spicer, low bidder for six vehicles
<br />Net Bid - $24,409.74
<br />Class III- Basney Ford, low bidder for four vehicles
<br />Net Bid - $15,235.36
<br />Class IV - Freeman Spicer, low bidder for five vehicles
<br />Net Bid - $9,737.65
<br />Mr. Yarrand_noted that the Community Development Department wishes
<br />to purchase four of the trade-ins. He said the Park Department
<br />had advised that .they wished to purchase from Freeman -Spicer, low
<br />bidder, two RK41 Plymouth Mid -Size Fury 4-Doors @ 4, 161.59, less
<br />trade-in, $1,100.00, net bid - $7,223.18. Mr. Farrand made a
<br />motion that the Board accept the recommendation of the Police Department
<br />and the Park: Department with the stipulation that two trade-ins
<br />listed in Class I in addition to those to be retained by the Police
<br />Department be retained by the.City that seven cars listed in Class
<br />III as trade-ins, with a value of 050 each, be retained by the City
<br />and that the Park; Department bid is accepted subject to the concurrence
<br />and approval of the Park Board, with the additional stipulation that
<br />the cars in the Department of Public Works being replaced by the
<br />seven trade-ins to be retained would then be disposed of.
