REGULAR MEETING <br />NOVETZBER 24, 1975 <br />This ordinance provides that the free parking cannot <br />be instituted until funds have been provided to reimburse <br />the Parking Garage Fund. Please be advised that free <br />parking will not be instituted in accordance with this <br />ordinance until the funding provisions of the ordinance <br />have been approved by the State Board of Accounts. <br />As soon as the City is advised by the State that this, <br />funding as provided for in the ordinance has been approved, <br />free parking will be instituted in accordance with the <br />ordinance. <br />Very truly yours, <br />s/ Rollin E. Farrand <br />Director <br />Department of Public Works " <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the letter was ordered filed. <br />Mr. Farrand noted that the purpose of the letter was to be sure <br />there was no confusion about the matter and that motorists be <br />advised that they could not park free on Monday nights and Saturdays <br />until the matter of funding had been clarified. <br />SOLID WASTE PICK-UP FOR THANKSGIVING WEEK <br />Mr. Farrand announced that because of the Thanksgiving holiday, <br />the Thursday solid waste pick-up for this week will be made on <br />Friday and the Friday route pick-up will be made on Saturday. <br />RIVER BEND PLAZA APPLICATION APPROVED <br />Douglas Simpson, Director, River Bend Plaza, submitted an <br />application to the Board from the Washington High School Freshman <br />Class to sell bicentennial stationery on the Plaza on November 26 <br />from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Mr. Simpson recommended the application <br />favorably. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board <br />approved the application subject to clearance with Gwen Stiver, <br />Chairman of the Bicentennial Committee. <br />CERTIFICATES OF INSURANCE FILED <br />Certificates of Insurance from the South Bend Symphony and the <br />Mental Health Association were received. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the certificates were ordered filed. <br />BONDS APPROVED <br />Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, reported to the Board that <br />the Contractor's bond of Bruno Cataldo d/b/a Bruno Construction <br />could be approved to 10/29/76 and that the Contractor's Bond <br />of Hartman Builders, Inc. could be approved to 1/l/77. Upon <br />motion made, seconded and carried, the bonds were approved to <br />the dates listed. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED <br />The Street Light Outage report for the period of November 14 <br />through 20 was received. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, <br />the report was ordered filed. <br />
