REGULAR MEETING
DECEMBER 2, 1977
CENTURY CENTER PARKING LOT - CHANGE ORDER NO. 1
Change Order No. 1 for the Century Center parking lot was submitted
to the Board. The change order reflects an increase of $7,984.35
and brings the total of the project to $202,855.89. Upon motion
made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the change
order was approved.
PARKING REMOVED ON EAST SIDE OF 1000, 1100, 1200 VICTORY AVENUE
The Board received the following recommendation from the Bureau of
Traffic and Lighting:
"This Bureau investigated a petition from the above residents,
received via Councilman Parent, to remove parking on the east side
(the house side) from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The request was
precipitated by the users of the Edison Park Facilities and an
obvious concern of residents of blocked drivers and evidently
neighborhood children who are crossing in the midblock instead of
crossing properly at the intersections.
This Bureau finds no objection at this time to the request. It is
recommended, however, that the installation be delayed until Spring
'78 when the park activities resume."
Mr. McMahon made a motion to approve the request for parking restric-
tion on Victory Avenue with the time of installation to be left to
the discretion of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. Mr. Brunner
seconded the motion and it carried.
TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES APPROVED
Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting,
recommended the following installations:
A. Installation of a "No Parking Passenger Loading Zone" fifty
feet in front of the front entrance to St. Stanislaus
Church (415 N. Brookfield Street). Upon motion made by
Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the
installation was approved.
B. Installation of "No Parking" on the South side of Fox
Street, from Ironwood, West 100 feet. Upon motion
made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried,
the installation was approved.
WEED CONTROL PROJECT YEARLY REPORT FILED
The yearly report for the Weed Control Project was submitted to
the Board. During the year 461 properties were cleaned, there
were 117 environmental complaints, 515 loads were taken to the
dump, 49 loads were taken to the tree dump and the summer crew took
393 loads to the dump. In addition, the crew also picked up bagged
leaves, Christmas trees, during snow control cleaned crosswalks
downtown, patched main streets during the spring and had charge
of the summer youth and clean up crew. Upon motion made by Mr.
McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the report was filed.
CLAIMS APPROVED
Michael L. Vance, Deputy City Controller, submitted to the Board
Claim Docket numbers 21582 through 21769 and recommended approval.
Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried,
the Board approved the Claim Docket Numbers 21582 through 21769
and directed that checks for payment be issued.
STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED
The street light outage report for the period November 28 to December
1 was submitted.
