Deputy City Attorney <br />Terry A. Crone advised the Board that the bid was not acceptable <br />since it was not received prior to the deadline established in the <br />Notice to Bidders. The Board directed that the bid be returned <br />to the company unopened with a letter explaining why the bid could. <br />not be considered. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the bids were referred to the Fire Department for review <br />and recommendation. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - FIRE HOSE <br />This.wa-s the date set for receiving bids for fire hose. The Clerk <br />tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune <br />and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The <br />following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />Tri-State Fire and Rescue Company Bid was signed by J. R. Dickman, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a 10% bid bond was submitted. <br />Bid - 1000 feet 3" hose - $2.69 per foot <br />450 feet 22" hose - $2.01 per foot <br />1000 feet 12" hose - $1.27 per foot <br />
