REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 26. 1977 SIGNING OF TITLE SHEET AND BID AUTHORIZATION - REMODELING OF LEGAL DEPARTMENT OFFICES David A. Wells, Manager of the Bureau of Design and Administration, submitted the title sheet for the remodeling of the 14th floor Legal Department offices to the Board and requested that the Board sign the title sheet approving the plans and authorize advertising for bids for the project, with bids to be received on October 10, 1977. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved the title sheet and authorized the advertising for bids. BID AWARDED - PROSPECT STREET SANITARY SEWER PROJECT David A. Wells, Manager of the Bureau of Design and Administration, submitted a tabulation of bids received on September 19 for the Prospect Street Sanitary Sewers. He noted that the apparent low bidder at the time of bid opening, Taylor Construction Company, made - an error in extension of a unit price. Correction of this error made their bid $35,108.00. Therefore, the low bidder on the project is Marion Hamilton & Son, Inc. at 17,223.40. This is a Barrett Law project and the engineer's estimate used to establish assessments was $15,333.12. Mr. Wells recommended that, because of the time of the year and the end of the Street Department paving season, the City absorb the additional cost and award a contract to Marion Hamilton. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the bid of Marion Hamilton & Son, Inc. of $17,223.40 for the construction of the Prospect Street sanitary sewers was accepted. PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT AND LETTER OF CREDIT FILED IRELAND WOODS, SECTION ONE The Project Completion Affidavit for Ireland Woods, Section One was submitted to the Board by John Leszczynski, Manager of the Bureau of Public Construction. A Maintenance Bond in the amount of $12,000, with the maintenance agreement effective until September 26, 1980, was submitted along with an Irrevocable Letter of Credit from the First Bank & Trust Company, in the amount of $48,745.00. The improvement consists of construction of sewers, curbs, sidewalk and asphalt pavement. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Project Completion Affidavit was approved and the Maintenance Bond and Letter of Credit were filed. PURCHASE AGREEMENT APPROVED - SALE OF 923 E. BOWMAN A purchase agreement for the sale of a city -owned lot at 923 E. Bowman for a total price of $750.00 was prepared by the Legal Department and submitted to Donald and Helen Kintner, prospective purchasers. The agreement has been signed by the Kintners and is now submitted to the Board for approval. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved the purchase agreement and directed the Legal Department to prepare a deed to the property for final closing. REPORT FILED - ATTENDANCE AT PERSONNEL SEMINAR John Kasprzak, Personnel Department, filed with the Board a report of his attendance at a Personnel Seminar conducted in South Bend on August 18, 1977 by Dun -Donnelley Seminars. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the report was filed and made available for inspection.
