333 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 19, 1977 <br />PARKING ON NORTH BENDIX DRIVE APPROVED,-,SIMON BROTHERS <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting reported to the Board that <br />the request of Simon Brothers to permit parking on Bendix Drive <br />on Saturday and Sunday, September 24 and 25 from'10:O Va.m to <br />6:00 p.m. had been reviewed. Mr. Wadzinski indicated there was <br />no objection to the parking on the west side of Bendix Drive <br />for a distance as deemed necessary by the Traffic Sergeant <br />on those days. In no case, will parking be permitted within 500' <br />of the runway approach to the Michiana Regional Airport. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the recommendation was approved. <br />EXTENSION OF TEMPORARY PERMIT FOR MOBILE HOME APPROVED <br />The Board had granted a ten -week permit to Mr. & Mrs. Leon Milcherska <br />to locate a mobile home on their lot at 2608 S. Michigan Street <br />while making repairs to their fire -damaged home. The temporary <br />permit expired on August 24, 1977. Mrs. Milcherska has requested <br />that the Board extend the permit until October 1 at which time she <br />anticipates all repairs.will be completed and: the mobile home <br />removed. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner <br />and carried, the extension to October 1 was approved. <br />CENTURY CENTER PAYMENT SUMMARIES FILED <br />Patrick M. McMahon, Director of Public Works, submitted to the <br />Board payment summaries for Century Center billin s for April, May <br />and June. He noted that these summaries reflect �5,442,216.26 in payments <br />to date, with $1,280,281.26 remaining in the contracts. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the <br />Board filed the payment summaries. <br />CLAIMS APPROVED <br />Michael L. Vance, Deputy City Controller, submitted to the Board <br />Claim Docket Numbers 16279 through 16612 and recommended their <br />approval. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner <br />and carried, the Board approved the claims and directed that <br />checks for payment be issued. <br />REPORT - STREET DEPARTMENT ENVIRONMENTAL CREW <br />The report of the Street Department Environmental Crew for the month <br />of August was submitted to the Board by Joseph Garwysiak, Street <br />Commissioner, and Edward Nowak, Foreman. The report indicated <br />twenty-three properties cleaned, fifteen environmental complaints <br />serviced and ninety-nine loads taken to the dump. Upon motion made <br />by Mr. McMahon, secondedbyMr. Brunner and carried, the report <br />was placed on file. <br />CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE FILED - MORSE ELECTRIC COMPANY <br />The Morse Electric Company submitted to the Board a Certificate of <br />Insurance covering their operations in the City of South Bend. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the certificate was filed. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period September 12 <br />was submitted to the Board.
