REGULAR MEETING JULY 25, 1977 <br />BID AWARDED - PAVE14ENT SCARIFICATION <br />Patrick M. McMahon, Director of Public Works, submitted to the <br />Board a written report that the bids received for pavement <br />scarification had been reviewed with the Bureau of Streets and it is <br />recommended that the low bid of Eisenhour Construction Company of <br />$53,060 be accepted. A bid tabulation was prepared and submitted <br />along with the recommendation. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board approved the recom- <br />mendation and awarded the bid for pavement scarification to the <br />Eisenhour Construction Company on their low bid of $53,060. <br />BID AWARDED CONDITIONALLY - THEATRE LIGHTING FOR CENTURY CENTER <br />Patrick M. McMahon, Director of Public Works, reported to the Board <br />that bids for theatre lighting for Century Center had been reviewed <br />with the architects, the lighting consultant and the Civic Center <br />Board of Managers. A detailed report of the bid review and a bid <br />tabuZation.weresubmitted. It was recommended that the low bid for <br />the base lighting package of Koontz -Wagner Electric Company and their <br />low bid for optional equipment D be accepted at a total bid price of <br />$99,480, subject to the approval of the funding. Upon motion made by <br />Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the recommendation <br />was approved and the bid awarded to Koontz -Wagner Electric Company <br />on their low bid of $99,480, subject to approval of the funding. <br />BIDS REJECTED AND NEW BIDDING APPROVED -KITCHEN EQUIPMENT -CENTURY CENTER <br />Patrick M. McMahon, Director of Public Works, reported to the Board <br />that the bids for kitchen equipment for Century Center had been reviewed <br />by the kitchen consultant, the Hotel -Motel Tax Board, the caterers for <br />Century Center and the Civic Center Board of Managers. They have agreed <br />that the two bids received did not provide the City with a representa- <br />tion of the market for this equipment and bid prices quoted were over <br />the budgeted amount. The caterer has indicated that rebidding the <br />projectvt�ul:d not interfere with his providing of catering services <br />during the opening months of operation. It was recommended that the <br />Board reject all bids and readvertise for bids. The specifications will <br />be substantially revised to separate electrical and mechanical equipment <br />and some work will be handled by change order. This will have a <br />significant impact on the total cost. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board rejected the bids received <br />for kitchen equipment for Century Center and authorized advertising <br />for new bids under revised specifications. <br />PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT APPROVED - CLEVELAND ROAD RECONSTRUCTION <br />Patrick M. McMahon, Director of Public Works, and John Leszczynski, <br />Manager of the Bureau of Public Construction, submitted to the Board <br />the Project Completion Affidavit and Waiver of Lien for R & S 87, <br />the Cleveland Road Reconstruction, with their recommendation that the <br />Completion Affidavit be approved. Total cost of the project was <br />$154,167.51. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner <br />and carried, the Project Completion Affidavit was approved and the <br />Waiver of Lien filed with the Board. <br />OFFER TO PURCHASE 923 E. BOWMAN APPROVED SUBJECT TO CONCURRENCE BY <br />COMMON COUNCIL <br />All procedures required for the sale of city -owned property were <br />followed with regard to the sale of a lot at 923 E. Bowman Street <br />and a purchase agreement was submitted to Mr. & Mrs. Donald Kintner <br />for a total price of $999. The agreement was returned by the pros- <br />-prospective purchasers with a counter-offer of $500, based on their <br />investment of funds for cleaning, seeding and maintaining the lot. <br />The Board noted that they would consider requesting Common Council <br />approval for sale of the lot at less than the offering price if the <br />Li <br />
