REGULAR MEETING JULY 18, 1977 <br />Therefore, we request that the Board of Public Works: <br />1. File the attached documents, and, <br />2. Authorize the Department of Public Works to arrange <br />for monies received due to a "Contract for Construction <br />of Sewer", dated August 16, 1971 by and between the <br />Board of Public Works and Green Land Development <br />Corporation, to be credited to South Bend Federal <br />Savings and Loan Association, 233 South Main Street, <br />South Bend, Indiana, 46601. <br />Very truly yours, <br />s/ David A. Wells, P.E., Manager <br />Bureau of Design & Administration" <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded and carried, the Board <br />moved to file the documents and approved the request, subject to <br />concurrence of the Legal Department. <br />REPORT ON INQUIRY REGARDING YOUTH SERIVCES BUREAU <br />The Board had received an inquiry from Councilman Richard Dombrowski <br />regarding a lease agreement for the Youth Services Bureau. He <br />questioned when the Board entered into a lease agreement for the <br />Youth Services facility, when will a new agreement be executed and <br />how much and at whose authorization has the rental been paid. The <br />Board received a.report from Deputy City Attorney Terry Crone that <br />a lease was signed between the Youth Services Bureau and Youth , <br />Facilities, Inc. on December 12, 1975. Mr. Crone said a new agree- <br />ment does not have to be executed unless the Board desires to <br />discontinue the month to month arrangement. The monthly rental <br />fee for the facility is $275.00. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded and carried, the report was ordered filed and the Clerk <br />was directed to inform Councilman Dombrowski of the report. <br />REQUEST TO ALLOW PARKING ON L.W.E. FROM MIAMI TO IRONWOOD - POTPOURRI <br />The Board of Public Works received a request from Potpourri for <br />parking to be allowed on Lincolnway East (U.S. 33) on both sides <br />of the street from Miami to Ironwood for their loth Annual Art <br />and Import Fair on August 6 and 7. It was indicated that the <br />Traffic Division of the Indiana State Highway Department has given <br />their approval. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. <br />Brunner and carried, this was referred to the Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Detail for review <br />and recommendation. <br />TENT REVIVAL APPROVED - 2627 W. NAPIER STREET <br />The Board of Public Works received a request from the New Bethel <br />Tabernacle Church to conduct a tent revival meeting to begin on <br />Tuesday, July 19 and ending Sunday, July 24, 1977 at 2627 W. <br />Napier Street. Ralph Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting, reviewed the request and recommended approval. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded and carried, the tent revival <br />was approved, subject to inspection of the tent by the Fire Inspection <br />Bureau. <br />REQUEST BLOCK PARTY - 1300 E. SOUTH STREET <br />The Board of Public Works received a request for a block party <br />on E. South Street from the alley at 1300 South to the Longfellow <br />intersection on August 12, with a rain date of August 13, 1977. <br />Mr. McMahon moved that this be referred to the Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Detail for review <br />and recommendation. Mr. Brunner seconded the motion and it carried. <br />1 <br />
