REGULAR MEETING
JULY 18, 1977
The local business people need your encouragement and support.
Certainly we'd all be better off with a feeling of good will
between us. In this spirit, I ask that you rescind your contract
with the Sunday Auto Mart and thus enhance mutual cooperation,
peace, and harmony in the Michiana community.
Sincerely,
s/ Harold Medow"
Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the letter was filed and
referred to the City Controller's office and the Legal Department
for review.
OFFER TO PURCHASE 721-725 S. FELLOWS
The Board had set an offering price of $991.00 on the city -owned lot
at 721-725 S. Fellows Street. An offer to purchase the lot for
$500.00 was received from Esther Waldon. The Board felt the cost
of the two appraisals should be added to that, making the offer
$700.00. A letter was received from Mrs. Waldon agreeing to
purchase the lot for $700.00. She also telephoned to say she
would like the purchase agreement in her brother's name, Leo Dunaetz.
Mr. McMahon moved the Board sign the purchase agreement and accept
the offer subject to the concurrence of the Common Council in accept-
ing an amount lower than the offering price. Mr. Mullen seconded the
motion and it carried.
REPORT - ACQUISITIONS FOR DISCOVERY HALL THROUGH JUNE 30, 1977
Richard W. Subsequent to the execution of this contract, and
faced with foreclosure, the Green Land Development Corporation
held a meeting of its shareholders and directors. The minutes
of that meeting are included as enclosure no. 2. Following
the meeting, the corporation deeded their property and assets
to South Bend Federal Savings and Loan Association to avoid
foreclosure (enclosure no. 3).
Based on my review of the attached documents, it appears clear
that the Green Land Development Corporation intended and agreed
to transfer future receipts to South Bend Federal as an inducement
to avoid foreclosure.
