2.51 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 5. 1977 <br />REQUEST FOR WATCH CHILDREN SIGN ON RALEIGH DRIVE -FILED <br />The Board received a request from Mrs. Anthony Sergio that "Watch <br />Children" signs be installed in the 5600 block Raleigh Drive. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the <br />request was filed and referred to the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST FOR BLOCK PARTY 500.OSTEMO PLACE FILED <br />Susan Hendricks, 602 Ostemo Place, submitted a request to block <br />the 500 block Ostemo Place for a block party on Sunday, July 17 <br />from 1:00 p.m. until dark. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the request was filed <br />and referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for review and <br />recommendation. <br />RIVER BEND PLAZA APPLICATION APPROVED <br />Mary Kay Huszar, Director of River Bend Plaza, submitted an application <br />for a display booth for the Commission on the Status of Women on <br />July 11 from 11:30 to 1:00 p.m. The display is in conjunction with <br />Women's Week. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. <br />Brunner and carried, the application was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF CLAIMS <br />Walter F. Lantz, Deputy City Controller, and Michael L. Vance, City <br />Auditor, submitted to the Board Claim Docket Numbers 10792 through <br />11411 and recommended approval. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board approved Claim Docket <br />Numbers 10792 through 11411 and directed that checks for payment be <br />issued. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period of June 27 through <br />July 1 was received. The report indicated eight outages. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the <br />report was ordered filed. <br />ADOPTION OF VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3443, 1977 <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the following resolution was adopted in conjunction with the petition <br />of Memorial Hospital to vacate four alleys: <br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3443. 1977 <br />RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA, That it is desirable to vacate the following: <br />The eastern half of the northerly east -west alley east of <br />Lafayette Boulevard and southern half of the north -south <br />alley east of Lafayette Boulevard, the northerly east -west <br />alley east of Main Street, and the northern third of the <br />north -south alley south of Bartlett Street, City of South Bend. <br />Reserving the rights and easements of all Utilities and the <br />Municipal City of South Bend, Indiana,. to construct and maintain <br />any facilities, including, but not limited to, the following: <br />electric, telephone, gas, water, sewer, surface water control structures <br />and ditches, within the vacated right of way, unless such rights <br />are released by the individual Utilities. <br />The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected <br />by such vacation: <br />
