Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting,
reported to the Board that he reviewed the request and petitions
submitted by Councilman Joseph Serge for the removal of parking
on four northwest streets. Mr. Wadzinski noted that this parking
removal would have no adverse effects on traffic flow or safety
and he recommended the following:
Removal.of parking on the west side of Olive Street, from Elwood
to Lathrop and, at the intersection of Olive and Elwood, that
parking also be removed on the east side of Olive, from Elwood south
for a distance of 150'. It was also recommended that parking
be removed from the East side of Olive Street, from Elwood north
for a distance of 100'. This would allow for maneuvering at the
intersection of Elwood and Olive, which is a four way stop.
On O'Brien Street, from Elwood to Hamilton, on Johnson Street, from
Lincolnway to Lathrop, and on Wilber, from Elwood to Marquette, it
is recommended that parking be removed from the east side of the
streets.
Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried.,
the Board approved the recommendations.
PARKING REMOVAL ON CORBY BOULEVARD APPROVED
Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting,
reported to the Board that he had reviewed the request of Ernest
Ross and Councilman Roger Parent to remove parking from one side
of Corby Blvd., from Hill Street to Twyckenham. A field investigation
was made and the Bureau sees no adverse effect on traffic flow or
safety if such parking removal is approved. Mr. Wadzinski recommended
that parking be removed from the south side of Corby Blvd., from
Niles Avenue to Twyckenham. This would allow for two traffic lanes
and one parking lane on the street. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon,
seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the removal was approved. .
FIREWORKS STANDS APPROVED
The Board received an application.from Steve Crane to operate an
open air stand at 1202 N.
