Wadzinski, Manager of the
Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, that at the request of the Police
Department he investigated removal of parking on Indiana Avenue,
from Prairie to Walnut. Mr. Wadzinski said his investigation
indicated a problem existing because of the narrow width of the
street and misalignment of the roadway. He recommended that the
Board remove parking on the south side of Indiana Avenue, from
Prairie to Swygart, and on the north side of Indiana Avenue, from
Prairie to McPherson and removal of parking for a distance of
50 feet from the intersection of and on Walnut Street and Indiana
Avenue. Mr. Brunner asked the reason for the Police Department
request. Mr. Wadzinski replied that the request was made because
of the narrow width of the street and to allow for maneuverability
and a free flow of traffic from the signalized intersection of
Indiana and Prairie. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by
Mr. Mullen and carried, the parking removals were approved.
u
