REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 31, 1977 <br />REQUEST FOR PARADE FILED <br />St. Adalbert's Church submitted a request to hold a parade on Sunday, June <br />12 and block several streets in the immediate vicinity of the church for <br />observance of a Corpus Christi ceremony. The route was submitted.with the <br />request as was the required Certificate of Insurance. The Board also <br />received a letter from Council President Roger Parent supporting the request. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the <br />request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police <br />Department for review and recommendation. <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES APPROVED <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, submitted the <br />following recommendations: <br />A. Installation of one hour parking in the 800 block North College.. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the <br />installation was approved.. <br />B. Removal of two hour parking and designation of one hour parking at 1805 <br />Lincolnway West. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen <br />and carried, theA nstallation was approved. <br />C. Removal of t[virty;minute parking -at 633-635 North Studebaker Street. <br />Mr. McMahon made a motion to approve the removal, seconded by Mr. Mullen <br />and carried. <br />D. Removal of yield sign on Frederickson at Bendix. Upon motion made by Mr. <br />McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the removal was approved. <br />TEMPORARY MOBILE OFFICE AT SOUTHEAST CORNER, MAIN AND WESTERN APPROVED <br />The Board received a letter from Marvin Borr, Mary Borr Toyota, requesting <br />permission to.use a mobile used car office for one year at the southeast <br />corner of Main and Western Avenue. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded <br />by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved the request for a period of <br />six months and directed that Mr. Borr be advised that the Board has jurisdiction <br />to permit such temporary usage for a six month period only. <br />BLOCK PARTY REQUESTS FILED <br />The Board received a request from Mrs. Beth Ekstrand to hold a block party <br />on-27th--- Street, on Friday, June loth from 4.00 p.m, to midnight. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the request was <br />filed and referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police <br />Department for review and recommendation. <br />Mr. David McCarthy, representing the Riverside Manor Home Owners, requested <br />permission to block the circle at the end of 3800 Rainbow Drive on July 1 <br />from 8:00 p.m, to 1:00 a.m, for a block party. Upon motion made by Mr. <br />McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the request was filed and <br />referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for review and recommendation, <br />and coordination with the Police Department Traffic Detail. <br />BLOCK PARTY APPROVED - TASHER STREET <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, reported <br />that the request to hold a block party on Tasher Street, between Jennings and <br />Michigan, on Sunday, June 5 from 3:30 p.m, until dark had been reviewed and <br />he recommended approval. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. <br />Mullen and carried, the Block Party was approved. <br />RIVER BEND PLAZA APPLICATIONS APPROVED <br />Mary Kay Huszar, Director of River Bend Plaza, submitted applications from <br />Southhold Dancecenter for a noon hour display on River Bend Plaza on July <br />13 and 27. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and <br />carried, the applications were approved. The applications were favorably <br />recommended by Miss Huszar. <br />1 <br />
