REGULAR MEETING MAY 31, 1977 1 CLAIMS APPROVED Walter F. Lantz, Deputy City Controller, and Michael L. Vance, City.Auditor, submitted to the Board Claim Docket Numbers 8524 through 8980 and recommended their approval. Mr. McMahon made a motion that the claims be approved and checks issued for payment. Mr. Brunner seconded the motion and it carried. CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE FILED A Certificate of Insurance from E. L. Zimmerman was submitted to the Board. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Certificate was filed with the Board. BONDS APPROVED Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, reported to the Board that bonds for Charles O. Hawkins, Allison -Associates, Inc. and W. E. Crachy had been properly executed and could be approved. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the bonds were approved. STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED The Street Light Outage report for the period of May 23 through 27 was submitted to the Board. The report indicated 42 outages. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the report was ordered filed. EXTRA WORK AGREEMENT AND CHANGE ORDER APPROVED - SIXTEEN INTERSECTION PROJECT An Extra Work Agreement and Change Order for Project RT 9897, Indiana State Highway work at sixteen intersections in South Bend, were submitted to the Board. The Change Order increased the contract by $1,855.90 and involves changes in steel and quantity modifications. Mr. McMahon noted that this is a state project, funded by federal, state and local funds. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Change Order was approved and will be submitted to the Indiana State Highway Commission. The Extra Work Agreement is to cover installation of a traffic signal foundation not included in the contract at a cost of $613.96. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Extra Work Agreement was approved and will be submitted to the Indiana State Highway Commission. REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR SOLID IrJASTE VEHICLES APPROVED Patrick M. McMahon, Director of Public Works, advised the Board that specifications have been prepared for a cab and chassis and a cab, chassis and packer for the Solid Waste Department and they are requesting that bids be advertised. James Meehan, Manager of the Bureau of Vehicle Maintenance, is reviewing the specifications. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved the request to advertise for bids for vehicles for the Solid Waste Department, with sealed bids to be received on June 20. There being no further business to come before the Board, upon motion made by Mr. McMahon. seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the meeting adjourned at 10:20 a.m. ATTEST: "-p _.
