REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 31, 1977 <br />1 <br />CLAIMS APPROVED <br />Walter F. Lantz, Deputy City Controller, and Michael L. Vance, City.Auditor, <br />submitted to the Board Claim Docket Numbers 8524 through 8980 and recommended <br />their approval. Mr. McMahon made a motion that the claims be approved and <br />checks issued for payment. Mr. Brunner seconded the motion and it carried. <br />CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE FILED <br />A Certificate of Insurance from E. L. Zimmerman was submitted to the Board. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the <br />Certificate was filed with the Board. <br />BONDS APPROVED <br />Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, reported to the Board that bonds <br />for Charles O. Hawkins, Allison -Associates, Inc. and W. E. Crachy had been <br />properly executed and could be approved. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the bonds were approved. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED <br />The Street Light Outage report for the period of May 23 through 27 was submitted <br />to the Board. The report indicated 42 outages. Upon motion made by Mr. <br />McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the report was ordered filed. <br />EXTRA WORK AGREEMENT AND CHANGE ORDER APPROVED - SIXTEEN INTERSECTION PROJECT <br />An Extra Work Agreement and Change Order for Project RT 9897, Indiana State <br />Highway work at sixteen intersections in South Bend, were submitted to the Board. <br />The Change Order increased the contract by $1,855.90 and involves changes in <br />steel and quantity modifications. Mr. McMahon noted that this is a state <br />project, funded by federal, state and local funds. Upon motion made by Mr. <br />McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Change Order was approved and <br />will be submitted to the Indiana State Highway Commission. The Extra Work <br />Agreement is to cover installation of a traffic signal foundation not included <br />in the contract at a cost of $613.96. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded <br />by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Extra Work Agreement was approved and will <br />be submitted to the Indiana State Highway Commission. <br />REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR SOLID IrJASTE VEHICLES APPROVED <br />Patrick M. McMahon, Director of Public Works, advised the Board that specifications <br />have been prepared for a cab and chassis and a cab, chassis and packer for the <br />Solid Waste Department and they are requesting that bids be advertised. James <br />Meehan, Manager of the Bureau of Vehicle Maintenance, is reviewing the <br />specifications. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the Board approved the request to advertise for bids for vehicles for <br />the Solid Waste Department, with sealed bids to be received on June 20. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, upon motion made by <br />Mr. McMahon. seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the meeting adjourned at 10:20 a.m. <br />ATTEST: <br />"-p _.
