Mullen <br />ATTEST: <br />s/ Patricia DeClercq, Clerk <br />FILING OF PETITION TO VACATE A PORTION OF MAPLEWOOD AVENUE - STANZ <br />REALTY COMPANY <br />Stanz Realty Company, by their attorney James Nafe, files a petition <br />to vacate a portion of Maplewood Avenue running south from the <br />City Limits line in the area of the Airport Industrial Park. The <br />petitioners own the three lots east of Maplewood Avenue in this <br />area and represent that the portion of Maplewood Avenue petitioned <br />for vacation is not needed for ingress or egress, not used by the <br />public and not in the interests of the public and should be vacated. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the petition was filed and referred to the Department of <br />Engineering for preliminary review and recommendation. <br />CHANGE OF DATE OF MAY 30 MEETING <br />Mr. McMahon noted that the County -City Building will be closed on <br />Monday, Play 30 for observance of Memorial Day and he made a motion <br />that the regular meeting that week be changed to Tuesday, Play 31, <br />1977 at 9:30 a.m. Mr. Mullen seconded the motion and it carried. <br />REQUEST OF OWEN NESBIT FOR PARADE WITHDRAWN <br />Owen Nesbit who had requested a permit to parade down Mishawaka <br />Avenue on Friday, Play 13 at 4:00 p.m., has now advised the Board <br />that he plans to parade alone on the sidewalk and will not need <br />a parade permit. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by <br />Mr. Mullen and carried, the letter was ordered filed. <br />REQUEST FOR MOTORCYCLE RIDE FOR NATIONAL PARAPLEGIA FOUNDATION <br />The Board received a request from Curtis Mann, on behalf of the <br />National Paraplegia Foundation, to conduct a motorcycle ride for <br />the Foundation on Sunday, June 5 beginning at 1;00 p.m. at the <br />Moose Lodge, 4025 Lincolnway West and continuing downtown to end <br />at Honda of Michiana on S. Michigan Street. Riders would get <br />pledges of $1.00 per mile to be given to the Foundation. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the request was filed and referred to the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Detail for review <br />and recommendation. <br />POPPY SALE APPROVED <br />The Board received requests from Bendix Post 284 and River Park <br />Post 303 to sell veteran -made poppies on the public streets and <br />sidewalks on Play 20 and 21. Both have received permits from <br />the Charitable Solicitations Commission. Upon motion made by Mr. <br />McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the requests were <br />approved. <br />u <br />1 <br />
