REGULAR MEETING MAY 9, 1977 <br />OPENING OF BIDS - BUREAU OF STREETS TRACTOR WITH MOWER <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for one tractor with <br />mower for the Bureau of Streets. The Clerk tendered proofs of <br />publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County <br />News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were <br />opened and publicly read: <br />Bivens Brothers Implements Bid was signed by Orville J. Bivens, <br />Granger, Indiana non -collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a certified check in the amount <br />of $1397.40 was submitted. <br />Bid - One Tractor $8,764.00 <br />One Taylor Tiger_ Mower $5,210.00 Net - $ 13,974.00 <br />Southlawn Ford Bid was signed by Larry Zeiger, <br />South Bend, Indiana non -collusion affidavit was in <br />order and a 10o bid bond was <br />submitted. <br />Bid - $14,074.00 <br />Hite Equipment Company <br />Plymouth, Indiana <br />Bid - $13,810.00 <br />State Equipment Company <br />Indianapolis, Indiana <br />Bid - $13,377.00 <br />Tractorland Sales <br />Eau Claire, Michigan <br />Bid - Net - $13,889.50 <br />A. H. Choitz & Company <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Bid-.$13,720.00 <br />Bid was signed by Jerry Greenlee, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in <br />order and a 10% bid bond was <br />submitted. <br />Bid was signed by Anual C. Sharp, Jr. <br />non -collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a 10% bid bond was submitted. <br />Bid was signed by Arnold Rosenberg, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a certified check in the amount <br />of $1388.95 was submitted. <br />Bid was signed by A. H. Choitz, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in <br />order and a certified check in the <br />amount of $1400.00 was submitted. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the bids were referred to the Bureau of Streets for <br />review and recommendation. <br />RECOP21ENDATION TO AWARD BID - FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTRICATION TOOL <br />Chief Oscar Van Wiele reported to the Board that the bid submitted <br />for a power extrication tool for the Fire Department had been <br />reviewed and he recommended acceptance of the only bid received <br />from Midwest Fire and Safety Company, Inc. Upon motion made by Mr. <br />McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board accepted <br />the recommendation to award the bid for one power extrication tool <br />at a total bid price of $5,191.46 to the Midwest Fire & Safety <br />Equipment Company, Inc. <br />
