REGULAR MEETING APRIL 25, 1977 <br />SUB -GRANT AGREE11ENT WITH HANStit--CEN''ER APPROVED <br />A Sub -Grant Agreement between the Bureau of Manpower and Training <br />and the Hansel Center, in the araount of $24,.901, was submitted to <br />the Board by Elroy Kelzenberg. Mr. Kelzenberg noted that this is <br />the last of the sub -grant agreements for the summer CETA program <br />and is similar to the ones approved by the Board last week: Upon <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the Board approved the sub -grant agreement. <br />PETITION TO VACATE THREE ALLEYS FILED BY;<SCHAFER GEAR WORKS <br />Schafer Gear Works files a petition to vacate three alleys described <br />as follows: <br />1. The north -south alley situated between Lots 257 and 258 of <br />Daniel Garst's lst Add. and Lot Numbered 110 of Daniel <br />Garst's lst Add. extending north from the north line of Tutt <br />Street to the northerly line of said Lot Numbered 257 extended <br />east and said Lot Numbered 110 extended west which alley is further <br />described as being located approximately 138.5 feet east of the <br />east line of South Main Street. <br />2. North -south alley situated between Lots Numbered 259 and 260 <br />in Daniel Garst's Sub. of Daniel Garst's lst Add. and Lot <br />211 in Daniel Garst's lst Add. extending south from the south <br />line of Tutt Street to Lots Numbered 214 and 215 in Daniel <br />Garst's lst Add., which alley is further described as being <br />located 138.5 feet east of the east line of South Main Street. <br />3. East -west alley situated along the north side of Lots <br />Numbered 213 to 220 (incl.) in Daniel Garst's lst Addition <br />and also situated along the south side of Lot Numbered 260 <br />in Daniel Garst's lst Add. and along the south side of Lots <br />Numbered 211 and 212 in Daniel Garst's lst Add., which alley <br />is further described as being located approximately 132 feet <br />south of the south line of Tutt Street and extending from the <br />east line of South Main Street to a north -south alley running <br />and extending from Tutt Street to Sample Street. <br />The purpose of the vacation is to allow for improvement of parking <br />facilities adjacent to the company and to provide for proper grading, <br />security and regulation of parking facilities. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the petition was filed and referred to the Division of Engineering <br />for review and recommendation. <br />REPORT OF AREA PLAN COMMISSION -PETITION OF FEFERMAN MOTOR SALES <br />TO VACATE ALLEY <br />The Area Plan Commission reported to the Board that they had <br />reviewed the petition of Feferman Motor Sales, Inc. to vacate <br />the east -west alley between Michigan Street and St. Joseph Street, <br />being the block bounded on the north by South Street and on the <br />south by Bronson Street, City of South Bend. The Plan Commission <br />recommended the petition favorably to the Board of Public Works. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the Board filed the report and referred the petition to <br />the Bureau of Engineering for preparation of the Vacation Resolution. <br />REPORT OF AREA PLAN COIIDIISSIO14-PETITION OF DAVE T. AND 1WCINE BJORAAS <br />TO VACATE ALLEY <br />The Area Plan Commission reported to the Board that they had <br />reviewed the petition of Dave T. and Maxine Bjoraas to vacate the <br />second east -west alley south of Lincolnway West, running from Olive <br />Street east to the first north -south alley, City of South Bend. <br />The Plan Commission recommended the petition favorably to the Board <br />of Public Works, subject to granting of any additional right-of-way <br />if it is required. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. <br />Brunner and carried, the report was filed and the petition referred <br />to the Department of Engineering for preparation of the Vacation <br />Resolution. <br />
