nm <br />REGULAR MEE.LING APRIL 4, 1977 <br />REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS TOR FIXED ,SEATING FOR CENTURY CENTER <br />Patrick M. McMahon, Director of Public Works, submitted his request <br />that the Board approve advertising for fixed seating for Century <br />Center_. Mr. McMahon noted that this item was included in the <br />original budget in the amount of $77,000. fie asked that bids be <br />advertised on April 8 and 15, with sealed bids to be received by <br />the Board at its regular meeting on April 25, 1977. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board <br />approved the request to advertise for bids for fixed seating for <br />Century Center. <br />BOND RELEASED - BUD'S CONCRETE CONTRACTOR <br />Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, reported to the Board <br />that he had reviewed a request of the surety company to release <br />the Contractor's Bond of Bud's Concrete Contractor and he found <br />no reason to retain the bond. Mr. McMahon made a motion that the <br />bond be released. Mr. Mullen seconded the motion and it carried. <br />NOTIFICATION OF NAME CHANGE ON BOND TO I14DIANA CABLEVISION CORPORATION <br />The Board received notification from the American States Insurance <br />Company that the Excavation Bond on file with the Board in the <br />name of Valley Cablevision Corporation should now reflect a name <br />change of the principal to Indiana Cablevision Corporation. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the <br />notification was filed and will be attached to the bond. <br />STREET .LIGi OUTAGE REPORT FILED <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period of March 28 through <br />April 1 was filed with the Board. The report indicated sixty-nine <br />outages. Upon notion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen <br />and carried, the report was ordered filed. <br />SOUTH BENDPARKING LOT RATE CHANGES TABLED <br />The Board received notification from the South Bend Parking Company <br />that they were increasing rates at several of their open parking <br />lots. This notification was tabled without action at Mr. Mullen's <br />request pending receipt of payment from the Parking Company of <br />the Code requirement of $1.00 per parking space per lot for licensing. <br />Mr. Mullen noted that the matter is still under review by the Legal <br />Department and he recommended that the Board take no action on the <br />notification until they are advised by the Legal Department that the <br />matter has been resolved. <br />APPROVAL OF CLAIMS <br />Walter F. Lantz, Deputy City Controller, and Michael L. Vance, City. <br />Auditor, submitted to the Board Claim Docket Numbers 5247 through <br />5590 and recommended approval. Mr. McMahon made a motion that the <br />claims be approved and checks for payment issued. Mr. Mullen <br />seconded the motion and it carried. <br />BOND APPROVED - DAVID FORDYCE <br />A contractor's bond in the name of David Fordyce was submitted to <br />the Board for filing with the recommendation of Ray S. Andrysiak, <br />Bureau of Engineering, that the bond could be approved, subject to <br />receipt of Mr. Ford -Ice's business address and telephone number. <br />Upon notion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the Board -approved the bond, subject to receipt of the necessary <br />information regarding the principal. <br />
