REGULAR MEETING APRIL 4, 1977 REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED t&S FILED The Board received a letter from Attorney Melvin Reed requesting information about the possible purchase of city -owned lots at 114 and 125 N. Adams Street. Upon motion nade by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the request was filed and referred to the Bureau of Engineering, Parks, Redevelopment for review and a determination as to whether or not the lots are needed for any purposes. FILING OF PETITIO14 TO VACATE FOUR ALLEYS Memorial Hospital of South Bend files its petition to vacate four alleys, described as follows: 1. East -west alley from the east side of North Main Street, east through the north -south alley east of North Main Street which is located between Lots 25 and 26 of the original plat,of South Bend and is a westerly extension of the alley vacated under Resolution 2884. 2. North -south alley from the south side of Bartlett Street south, through the first east -west alley which is located between Main Street and Michigan Street and adjoins Lots 13, 14, 15, 26 and 27 and 28 of the original plat of South Bend and is a northerly extension of vacated alley under Resolution 2678. 3. East -west alley from the west side of North Main Street, west to the north -south alley between Main Street and Lafayette Boulevard and located between Lots 7 and 8 of Reynold's Addition to the City of South Bend. 4. North -south alley from Navarre Street, north to a point opposite the north line of Lot 185 of the original plat of South Bend and located between North Main Street and North Lafayette Boulevard. The petitioner states that the purpose of the proposed vacation is to improve parking facilities for the hospital. Upon raotion glade by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board filed the petition and referred it to the Bureau of Engineering for preliminary review and recorunendation. FILING OF REQUEST TO SELL AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY POPPIES The Board received a letter from Mrs. Millard Coleman on behalf of Bendix Legion Post 284 requesting.pernission for the sale of veteran - made poppies on the public streets and sidewalks on May 20 and 21. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the request was filed and will be tabled under a report is received from the Charitable Solicitations Commission on the organization's application with them. NOTIFICATION OF SOLID WASTE PICK-UP ON GOOD FRIDAY The Board received notification from Joseph Klebosits, Manager of the Bureau of Solid Waste, that regular trash pick-up would be made on Good Friday, April 8. The notification was ordered filed. FILING OF BID TABULATION - STREET MATERIALS FOR 1977 Mr. McMahon noted that the Bureau of Engineering had prepared a bid tabulation of bids received for Bureau of Streets materials for 1977. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the tabulation was filed. 1
