REGULAR MEETING APRIL 4, 1977 <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED t&S FILED <br />The Board received a letter from Attorney Melvin Reed requesting <br />information about the possible purchase of city -owned lots at 114 and <br />125 N. Adams Street. Upon motion nade by Mr. McMahon, seconded by <br />Mr. Mullen and carried, the request was filed and referred to the <br />Bureau of Engineering, Parks, Redevelopment for review and a <br />determination as to whether or not the lots are needed for any <br />purposes. <br />FILING OF PETITIO14 TO VACATE FOUR ALLEYS <br />Memorial Hospital of South Bend files its petition to vacate four <br />alleys, described as follows: <br />1. East -west alley from the east side of North Main Street, east <br />through the north -south alley east of North Main Street which <br />is located between Lots 25 and 26 of the original plat,of South <br />Bend and is a westerly extension of the alley vacated under <br />Resolution 2884. <br />2. North -south alley from the south side of Bartlett Street <br />south, through the first east -west alley which is located <br />between Main Street and Michigan Street and adjoins Lots 13, <br />14, 15, 26 and 27 and 28 of the original plat of South Bend <br />and is a northerly extension of vacated alley under Resolution <br />2678. <br />3. East -west alley from the west side of North Main Street, west <br />to the north -south alley between Main Street and Lafayette <br />Boulevard and located between Lots 7 and 8 of Reynold's Addition <br />to the City of South Bend. <br />4. North -south alley from Navarre Street, north to a point opposite <br />the north line of Lot 185 of the original plat of South Bend and <br />located between North Main Street and North Lafayette Boulevard. <br />The petitioner states that the purpose of the proposed vacation is <br />to improve parking facilities for the hospital. Upon raotion glade by Mr. <br />McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board filed the <br />petition and referred it to the Bureau of Engineering for preliminary <br />review and recorunendation. <br />FILING OF REQUEST TO SELL AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY POPPIES <br />The Board received a letter from Mrs. Millard Coleman on behalf of <br />Bendix Legion Post 284 requesting.pernission for the sale of veteran - <br />made poppies on the public streets and sidewalks on May 20 and 21. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the request was filed and will be tabled under a report is received <br />from the Charitable Solicitations Commission on the organization's <br />application with them. <br />NOTIFICATION OF SOLID WASTE PICK-UP ON GOOD FRIDAY <br />The Board received notification from Joseph Klebosits, Manager of <br />the Bureau of Solid Waste, that regular trash pick-up would be made <br />on Good Friday, April 8. The notification was ordered filed. <br />FILING OF BID TABULATION - STREET MATERIALS FOR 1977 <br />Mr. McMahon noted that the Bureau of Engineering had prepared a bid <br />tabulation of bids received for Bureau of Streets materials for 1977. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the tabulation was filed. <br />1 <br />
