Upon motion made
by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board
approved the contract with the Ziolkowski Construction Company
for the remodeling of the tenth floor of the County -City Building
at a total cost of $3575.00, subject to the. filing with the Board
of a 100% Performance Bond and any other required documentation.
VEHICLE ORDERED REMOVED FROM RIVER BEND PLAZA
Mr. McMahon advised the Board that a hot dog wagon has been parked
on River Bend Plaza since last fall. It has not been used for
vending operations since that time and is being offered for sale
while parked on the public right-of-way. Certified notice was sent
the owner, Thomas Niedbalski, that the vehicle must be removed
within fourteen days, or by April 11, 1977. The vehicle has also
been tagged by the Abandoned Vehicle Department. Mr. Niedbalski
had requested that this matter be on the agenda for today indicating
he would be present to speak to the Board. Mr. Niedbalski was
not present. Mr. McMahon noted that the vehicle will be towed away
if it is not moved from the Plaza prior to April 11, 1977.
RIVER BEND PLAZA REQUEST APPROVED
Mary Fray Huszar, River Bend Plaza Director, submitted to the Board
an application for the Clay Middle School Choir to appear on River
Bend Plaza on May 24 from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. Upon motion made
by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the application
was approved.
CORNUCOPIA OUTSIDE RESTAURANT APPROVED - 303 S. MICHIGAN STREET
The Board had under advisement a request of the Cornucopia Restaurant,
303 S. Michigan Street, to operate an outdoor restaurant on the
public sidewalk in front of their place of business. The Fire
Department was asked to investigate the request as it related to
the fire lanes. The following report was received from the Fire
Inspection Bureau:
"From: Capt. Stanley Sparazynski & Battalion Chief
Edward Szymkowiak
Re: Cornucopia Request
Capt. Stanley Sparazynski has reviewed the proposal in
regard to fire lanes at 303 S. Michigan Street. It is
recommended:
1. That they provide a 16 to 20 foot Fire Lane in the
brick way area.
2. Maintain a 44' aisle from store to the serving area.
3. That they are liable for any fire equipment that is
damaged or any firefighter that would be hurt in
answering the alarm.
4. That they maintain sidewalk for ambo use at all times."
Mr. McMahon made a motion that the Board approve the request of
the Cornucopia Restaurant to operate an outdoor restaurant on
the public sidewalk at 303 S.
