REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 28, 1977 <br />A petition signed by residents of the 800 block South Illinois <br />Street requesting that parking be banned on the Jest side of <br />the 800 block was transmitted to the Board by Councilman Walter <br />Kopczynski. ,Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. <br />Mullen -and carried, the -petition was filed and referred to the <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for review and recommendation <br />REQUEST FOR AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION CYCLETHON FILED <br />The American Heart Association submitted a request to conduct their <br />annual Cyclethon on Saturday, September 24, 1977. The request was <br />in compliance with Board guidelines requiring six months advance <br />notice of such requests. The proposed route was attached to the <br />request. Upon notion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen <br />and carried, the request was filed and the date reserved for the <br />American Heart Association. The request was referred to the <br />Bureau of Traffic & Lighting, the Police Department Traffic Detail <br />and the Civil Defense Office, for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST FOR WEST SIDE VETERANS' MEMORIAL DAY PARADE FILED <br />The West Side Veterans' Memorial Committee requested that the <br />Board approve their annual Memorial Day Parade to be held on <br />Monday, Play 30, 1977 beginning at.9:00 a.m. at Olive and Ford <br />Streets. The proposed route was submitted. Upon motion made by <br />Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the request was <br />filed and referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for <br />review and recommendation, and for coordination with the Police <br />Department. <br />FILING OF NOTIFICATION FROM INDIANA STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION <br />RE: CONP.AIL AGREEMENT <br />The Board received notification from the Indiana State Highway <br />Commission that documents for funding of the improvement and <br />signalization of the grade crossing at Orange Street and the'Conrail <br />tracks have been filed for federal assistance. It was noted that <br />the City will be responsible for traffic signs and lane markings <br />during construction. Mr. McMahon nade a notion that the notification <br />be filed. Mr. Brunner seconded the motion and it carried. <br />FILING OF IN -KIND CONTRIBUTION VOUCHERS FOR RENTAL OF FIRE <br />STATIONS #7 and #10 BY A.C.T.I.O.N., INC. <br />The Board received In-I:ind Contribution Vouchers for rental of <br />the premises at old Fire Station 7 and old -Fire Station 10 to <br />A.C.T.I.O.N., Inc. Vouchers subnitted covered the period from <br />October, 1975 through February, 1977 in accordance with the lease <br />agreements between the City and ACTION. Mr. McMahon made a notion <br />that the vouchers be approved. Mr. Brunner seconded the notion <br />and it carried. <br />RIVED. BEND PLAZA APPLICATIONS APPROVED <br />The following River Bend Plaza applications were submitted to the <br />Board with the favorable recommendation of Mary hay Huszar, Director: <br />A. Salute to Secretaries Day - April 27 <br />B. Harrison Grade School Choir - May 11 <br />C. Jackson Middle School Choir - May lv <br />D. Kiwanis Auxiliary Spring Garden Party - May 20 <br />E. Disco Party - June 4 <br />Mr. McMahon made a notion that the applications be approved, <br />subject to the securing of necessary licenses and the filing of <br />insurance certificates where applicable. Mr. Brunner seconded the <br />motion and it carried. <br />1 <br />
