Basney, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in <br />order and a 10% bid bond was submitted. <br />Total - $58,075.68 <br />10,400.00 <br />47,675.68 <br />Option for Rustproofing - $60.00 per unit <br />Gates Chevrolet Co. <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Bid was signed by Garry Westfall, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in <br />order and a 10% bid bond was submitted. <br />Bid - Unit price without special equipment - $2,978.50 $47,742.00 <br />with special equipment 55,422.00 <br />Less Trade -Ins 5,500.00 <br />Net 922.00 <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the bids were referred to the Bureau of Vehicle Maintenance <br />and the Police Department for review and recommendation. <br />ACCEPTANCE OF DONATED VEHICLE <br />Chief 'Michael Borkowski advised the Board by letter that George <br />E. Sikora has given a 1961 Rarlbler to the Board of Public Works <br />for assignment to the police fleet. Upon notion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board accepted the vehicle <br />to be titled to the Board of Public Works and assigned to the Police <br />Departnent. It will be assigned Vehicle No. 741. <br />BID ACCEPTED - FIRE DEPARTMENT RADIO DISPATCHING UNIT <br />The Board received a report from Chief Oscar Van Wiele, Assistant <br />Chief Carl Zwierzynski and Director of Corznunications John Hunt <br />that the bids received for the Radio Dispatching Unit for the Fire <br />Department had been reviewed. It was their recommendation that the low <br />bid of General Electric, submitted by Meade Electric Company, in <br />the amount of $15,950.00 be acceptedasit most effectively meets <br />and/or exceeds the specifications. TMr. 'Mc'Mahon noted receipt of a <br />letter from Pick Riviere, local representative for Motorola, Inc., <br />indicating that there were some itens not clear in the specifications <br />and listing two credits which could be deducted fron their bid. Mr. <br />McMahon said he had reviewed the letter with Mr. Hunt and even if <br />the two credits were deducted, the 'Motorola bid would still be high. <br />Mr. McMahon said, based on his review with Mr. Hunt and the recommendation <br />from the Fire Department, he would make a notion that the Board accept <br />the low bid of General Electric for the radio dispatching unit. Mr. <br />Brunner seconded the motion and it carried. <br />
