6 <br />REGULAR IEETI14G JANUARY 24_, 1977 <br />BID AWARDED - GASOLINE AND FUEL OIL <br />The Board received a recommendation from Joseph Paszli, Manager <br />of the Bureau of Building Maintenance, that the bids for gasoline <br />had been reviewed. Mr. Paszli recor_miended that the Board accept <br />the proposal of Amoco Oil Company to continue to supply the City with <br />regular and lead-free gasoline for Transport.delivery, at 37.71� per <br />gallon for regular gasoline and 39.39�- per gallon for lead-free gasoline <br />for the twelve-month period beginning February 1, 1977. Mr. Paszli <br />further recor�ended.that the bid of Frasch-Portage Oil Company for <br />tank wagon delivery of gasoline, diesel fuel and fuel oil be accepted <br />for the twelve-month period beginning February 1, 1977. This was the <br />only bid received for tank wagon delivery. Upon motion made by Mr. <br />McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved the <br />recommendation to award the bids as outlined above. <br />BID•AWARDED - JANITORIAL SERVICES, MUNICIPAL SERVICES FACILITY <br />The Board received a recommendation from Joseph Paszli, Manager of <br />the Bureau of Building Maintenance, that the bid for Janitorial <br />Services for the Municipal Services Facility submitted by Service <br />Master Building Services, Inc. had been reviewed. The bid is in the <br />amount of $20,268.10 for the period from February 1, 1977 through <br />January 31, 1978 and.was.the low bid and MZr..Paszli recommended that <br />the Board accept the.bid. It was noted that the bid of ABC <br />Janitorial Services, which was read on January 10, was defective <br />because the bid was not signed. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board rejected the bid of <br />ABC Janitorial Services as being a defective bid and accepted the <br />low bid of ServiceM2asters Building Services in the amount of <br />$20,268.10. <br />PRESENTATION BY A14DREII TOTH RE: SEWER CONSTRUCTION <br />Andrew Toth, Architect, was present. Mgr. Toth read an excerpt from <br />an article printed in the Focus Michiana magazine in 1968 regarding <br />water pollution. Mr. Toth then read a prepared statement to the <br />Board regarding storm water run-off and retention basins in the City. <br />Mr. Toth stated that, unless acceptable environmental impact statements <br />are established for such projects, he would file suit against any <br />individuals or agencies of a city, town.,county or local governmental <br />unit for protection of the environment of the state from significant <br />pollution. Mr. McMahon made a motion that MZr.''Toth's statement be <br />filed with the Board. Mr. Brunner seconded the motion and it carried. <br />Mr.. McMahon, as Secretary of the American Engineers, extended an <br />invitation to Mr. Toth to attend that organization's next meeting on <br />February 3 to discuss this matter. Mr. Toth said he would be happy <br />to accept the invitation. <br />MODIFICATION OF SUB -GRANT AGREEMENTS APPROVED <br />Elroy Kelzenberg, Director of Manpower and Training, submitted to the <br />Board modifications in sub -grant agreements approved by the Board <br />with IUSB-SPEA and with PEAL Services. The IUSB-SPEA sub -grant change <br />involves a line.item change within the original agreement and reflects <br />a slight increase in the salary for part-time orientation specialists <br />and a reduction in the funds provided for coordination of the project. <br />There is no change in the total dollar amount. Upon notion made by <br />Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved <br />the modification. The REAL Services sub -grant change is a line item <br />reduction in wages and fringe benefits and the addition of a line <br />item for local travel. There isno change in the total dollar amount. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the modi,cation was approved. r <br />
