REGULAR MEETING <br />JANUARY 4, 1976 <br />74 4 <br />REPORT FROM AREA PLAN COPa7ISSION ON PETITION TO TACATE A PORTION <br />OF SPRUCE STREET <br />The Board received a report from the Area Plan C< <br />public hearing was held on the petition of S1utsP <br />Company to vacate a portion of Spruce Street frog <br />way line of Washington Street 165 feet south to 1 <br />line of the east -west alley south of Washington <br />South Bend. The Plan Commission recommended the <br />to the Board, subject to=the vacation of the nori <br />located immediately south of Spruce Street. Upo7 <br />Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried. <br />the recommendation and referred the petition to 1 <br />Engineering for preparation of the Vacation Reso: <br />Bureau'of Design and Administration for review of <br />recommendation that the additional alley be vacai <br />STATUS REPORT - OLIVE A14D PRAIRIE SIG14ALS <br />The Board requested a status report today on the <br />to the Indiana State Highway Cor_imission for cons <br />installation of traffic signals at Olive and Pra <br />Mr. Brunner_ noted that the Board had submitted a <br />requesting this signal,`along with traffic studi <br />made by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, to t <br />Joseph County. Subsequently, William J. Richard <br />County Engineer, advised the Board that he concu <br />signals were needed but said the intersection wa <br />and the installation should be made by them. Mr <br />the request went to the LaPorte District of the <br />Commission in November and was probably received <br />scheduled for their December meeting.
