REGULAR MEETING <br />JANUARY 4, 1977 <br />repairs. Mr. McMahon said he did not fully accept'some of the <br />statements made in the letter and he made a motion that the letter <br />be filed and referred to the Bureau of Design and Administration <br />for review and recommendation and also to the Citv')Attorney's Office <br />for review. Mr. Brunner seconded the motion and it carried. Morgan <br />Peck, Manager of the Bureau of Sanitation, advised the Board that <br />his department had inspected the area after a sidewalk failure and <br />found that the vault under the sidewalk still has display cases, <br />electrical cords and miscellaneous items in it. <br />COMPLAINT - STREET LIGHT OUT AT 330 W. NAVARRE <br />The Board received a letter from Marchmont Kovas, 608 Park Avenue, <br />calling to their attention the fact that a street light at 330 W. <br />Navarre has been out since December 15. The outage has been reported <br />to City Departments at least three times and Mr: Kovas indicated the <br />light has not yet been repaired. Ralph Wadzinski, Manager of the <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, noted that this is an area where there <br />is some ornamental lighting and said, if there is a break in the <br />cable, it is possible I & 12 will not be able to repair it until <br />spring. Mr. McMahon asked Mr. Wadzinski to check: this light with a <br />field representative from I & 11 and advise the Board and Mr. Kovas <br />if repairs can be made. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded <br />by Mr'. Brunner and carried, the letter was filed and referred to the <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for review and recommendation. <br />EXTRA WORK AGREEMENT APPROVED - PROJECT 1-16000 (16) <br />The Board received an Extra Work. Agreement for Project 116000 (16) <br />the signalization'of sixteen intersections in South Bend being done <br />by the State, with City inspection. This agreement is for deleted <br />breakaway couplings and is a credit in the ar.7ount of $1,101.66. The <br />agreement has been signed by the contractor, Morse Electric <br />Company, and now needs Board approval so it can be submitted to the <br />state. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner <br />and carried, the Board approved the extra work agreement. <br />CRESTWOOD AND EDISON BID ADVERTISING DELAYED <br />The Board had approved advertising for bids for the Crestwood and <br />Edison signals, with bids to be received on January 10. The Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting submitted a memorandum to the Board stating <br />that bid advertising was delayed pending teceipt from the State of <br />Indiana of wage stipulations. The inforriation is expected within <br />the next day or two. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by <br />Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board filed the report. Mr. Brunner <br />requested that the Board be advised of the status of the project <br />each week. <br />APPROVAL OF PARKI14G METER CHANGES NEAR COUNTY -CITY BUILDING <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />recommended to the Board that meters #11, 13 and 15 at 200 W. <br />Jefferson and meters #16, 18 and 30 at 100 S. Lafayette, adjacent <br />to the County -City Building, be changed from one hour meters to <br />fifteen minute meters. He noted that this change would conform <br />to one -cent meters at utility companies in'the City where citizens <br />have need for short-term parking to pay bills and conduct business <br />at these locations. Mr. McMahon made a motion that the Board approve <br />the changes in the parking meters as recormended. Mr. Brunner <br />seconded the motion and it carried. <br />1 <br />
