6 <br />REGULAR Pg,ETING DECEMBER 27, 1976 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the above letter was order <br />filed. After the letter was read into the record, Georgia Luks, <br />Deputy City Attorney, advised the Board that it was necessary to <br />hold a public hearing prior to Board approval of the franchise <br />transfer. Mr. Farrand moved to advertise the public hearing <br />notice for the next two consecutive Fridays and to set the public <br />hearing for 9:30 a.m. on January 10, 1977 at the regular meeting <br />of the Board of Public Works The notion was seconded by Mr. <br />Mullen and carried. <br />Mr. Farrand advised the Board that a letter had been received <br />from Valley Cablevision advising the Board of current progress <br />on the handling of complaints under consideration by the Board. <br />The letter contained information regarding actions taken and <br />the continuing nature of efforts being made to elliminate signal <br />interference. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. <br />Mullen and carried, the letter was ordered filed with the Board. <br />AGREEMENT - "MUM SERVICES BUREAU AND Y . W. C . A. <br />The Board received an Agreement between the Youth Services Bureau <br />and the Y.W.C.A. for rental of a house at 5M N. Lafayette. This <br />had been continued -pending a recommendation from the Legal Depart- <br />ment in regard to the proposed use of the house in regard to <br />zoning restrictions. The Board received a recommendation from <br />Georgia Luks, Deputy City Attorney stating that the property is on <br />the east side of North Lafayette and is presently zoned "B <br />residential, therefore, the, proposed use is not in violation of <br />zoning restrictions. The Board accepted Mrs. Luks' recommendation <br />and upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and <br />carried, the Board approved the Agreement between the Youth Services <br />Bureau and the .`I.LJ.C.A, for rental of a house at 520 N. Lafayette. <br />MODIFICATION IN SUB -GRANT AGREEMENT WITH IVY TECII <br />Deputy City Attorney Georgia Luks reported to the Board that she <br />has now reviewed the contract agreement with Indiana Vocational <br />Technical College and finds it acceptable in form and legality. <br />This agreement is for modifications in the sub -grant agreement <br />approved by the Board and the modification reflects the full <br />obligation of funds, an increase in the number of individuals to <br />be served by ten and a change in the per client cost. The agree- <br />ment originally indicated $60.00 per student per quarter, but the <br />figure negotiated was $55.00 per student per quarter. Upon motion <br />made by PZr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board <br />accepted Mrs. Luks' recommendation and approved the Subgrant/Contract <br />Agreement with Indiana Vocational Technical College. <br />FILING OF ASSESSMENT ROLL, VACATION RESOLUTION 140. 3434, 1976 <br />Rollin E. Farrand, Civil Cit-17, Engineer, files with the Board an <br />Assessment Poll for Vacation Resolution No. 3434 for the vacation <br />of a portion of Parallel Street fron the East right-of-way line <br />of Jackson Street East to --the West right-of-way line,of College <br />Street in Cottage Grove Addition. The following lots may be <br />injuriously or beneficially affected by such vacation: Lot Nos. <br />10 and 15 of Cottage Grove Addition. the Board finds that each <br />of said lots have been damaged in the amount of $0.00 and benefited <br />in the arount of $0.00. Upon motion nade by Mr. Farrand, seconded <br />by Mr. Mullen andcarried, the Board filed the Assessment Poll <br />and set Monday, January 31, 1977 at 9:30 a.m. as the time and <br />the Board of Public Works hearing room as the place for a public <br />hearing on the assessment roll. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period of December 17 <br />through December 20 was received. The report indicated 30 <br />outages. Upon notion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen <br />and carried, the report was ordered filed. <br />
