M REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER ,1, 1976 OPENING OF BIDS - STREET DEPAEMENT TRUCES This was the date set for opening,bids for two single axle trucks for the Street Department. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and in the Tri- County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read, non -collusion affidavits being in order: Jordan Ford Bid was signed by Craig Kapson, non- Mishawaka,.Indiana collusion affidavit was in order and a 10°10 bid bond was submitted. Total Bid for two units - $23,062.44 Gates Chevrolet South Bend., Indiana Bid was signed by A. G. Irwin, non - collusion affidavit was in order and a 10% bid bond was submitted. Bid - Two. units @ $11,533.38. Total Bid - $23,066.76 Alternate, two speed rear axle, add per unit $310.00 International Harvester Bid was signed by P. J. Irwin, non- Sout _.Ben In Tana collusion affidavit was in order and a certified check in the amount of $2,477.00 was submitted. Bid - Two units @ 12,381.80 - Total Bid - $24,763.30 Shamrock Ford Bid was'signed by B. S. Tinkham, South Bend, Indiana non -collusion affidavit was in order and a 10% bid bond was submitted. Bid - Two LN700 @ 11,933.62 - Total Bid - $23,867.24 Option, Two F700 @ 11,518.58 - Total Bid - $23,037.16 Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried the bids were referred to the Bureau of Streets for review and recommendation. ADDITION A14D DELETION TO POLICE VEHICLE FLEET Chief Michael Borkowski advised the Board that his department has acquired a 1969 Dodge to be added to their fleet vehicle list as Unit #733. They are asking for permission to dispose of Unit 743, a 1969 Plymouth. Chief Terre was present and advised the Board that the Fire Department has expressed an interest in having Unit 734. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved the addition to the vehicle list of Unit #733 and authorized the transfer of Unit #734 from the Police Department to the Fire Department. CONTRACT WITH MOTOROLA EXTENDED - FTRE DEPARTMENT AMBULANCES The Board received a request from Chief Oscar Van Wiele that the Board approve an extension of the existing contract with Motorola, entered into in January, 1975, to include telemetry equipment for the two new ambulances. Cost of the maintenance agreement for the two ambulances would be $54.50 per month and would increase the cost of the agreement to $75.25 per month. Mr. Farrand made a motion that the extension of the maintenance agreement be approved. Mr. Brunner seconded the motion and it carried. BID ADVERTISING APPROVED - FIRE DEPARTMENT VEHICLES Chief Oscar Van Miele requested permission from the Board to prepare specifications and advertise for bids for four to six vehicles for the Fire Department. Chief Van Wiele indicated that these would probably be cars and said the Department is in dire need of vehicles. He indicated that he had discussed the matter with Mr. Mullen and had been advised to make the request. Mr. Mullen noted that the appropriation would probably come out of 1977 revenue sharing funds.
