REGULAR MEETING <br />DENIAL OF SECONDHAND DEALER'S LICENSE UPHELD - <br />WALTER G. FUELL, 1404 S. MICHIGAN STREET <br />SEPTEMBER 20, 1982 <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the Board of Public Works had denied <br />the secondhand dealer's license application of Mr. Walter Fuell <br />for the premises at 1404 South Michigan on September 13, 1982. <br />The Clerk advised that Mr. Fuell had requested an opportunity to <br />address the Board concerning the matter; however,. he was not in <br />attendance nor was he represented. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the denial was <br />upheld. <br />RECOMMENDATION TO DENY TAXI DRIVER'S LICENSE - DANNY J. FRY <br />Mr. Joseph E. Kernan, City Controller, recommended the Board deny <br />the taxi driver's license application of Danny J. Fry, 104 East <br />Broadway, based on the Police Department's investigation that Mr. <br />Fry had a suspended driver's license. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the recommendation <br />to deny the license was approved. Mr. Kernan abstained from voting. <br />APPROVE AGREEMENT - LOGAN STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY ACQUISITION <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that approval of an agreement for the <br />purchase of all necessary right-of-way in conjunction with the <br />Logan Street Project was necessary by the Board of Works. He <br />explained that all right-of-way activities and costs would be <br />programmed and authorized by FHWA. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the agreement was <br />approved. <br />APPROVE CERTIFICATE OF SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION AND FILE WAIVER <br />OF LIEN - SLUTSKY-PELTZ PLUMBING & HEATING (FIRST BANK CENTER) <br />A Certificate of Substantial Completion was submitted by Slutsky- <br />Peltz Plumbing & Heating for mechanical work on the public portion <br />of the First Bank Center in the total amount of $175,275.00. Upon <br />a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the Certificate of Substantial Completion was approved and the <br />Waiver of Lien filed. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS - SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />Ms. Katherine Barnard, Director of the Neighborhood Code Enforcement <br />Office, requested permission to advertise for the sale of approximately <br />9 abandoned vehicles, five of which were valued at over $106.00, and <br />all of which were being stored at the Hurwich Iron Impoundment Lot, <br />1610 Circle Avenue. It was noted that all vehicles had been stored <br />more than the required 30 days, identification checks had been run <br />for auto theft, and the owners and lienholders notified. Upon a <br />motion made -by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the request was approved, with the opening of sealed bids to take <br />place on October 4, 1982. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE <br />Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Light- <br />ing recommended approval of the following traffic control device: <br />REVISE TO MULTI -WAY STOP - Springbrook and Woodmont <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above traffic control device was approved. <br />
