410 REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 13, 1982 as a result, left out information regarding conviction of felony/ misdemeanor charges. Mr. Hill felt the application itself was very clear concerning conviction of charges. He stated that Mr. Taylor could always submit another application for Board con- sideration making certain all criminal activity was listed as requested. He stated that, since the Police Deaprtment record check indicated three convictions, before the Board would even consider Mr. Taylor's application, the Board members desired to have copies of the arrest reports to review. Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the recommendations to deny the above three taxi drivers' licenses were approved, and the Clerk was instructed to inform Mr. Ferri and Mr. Coleman of their right to a hearing before the Board. Mr. Hill requested copies of the arrest reports on Mr. Paul Taylor for review prior to the next Board meeting when the Board would consider Mr. Taylor's request for appeal. Mr. Kernan abstained from voting. REQUEST REFERRED FOR ROAD RUN - U.S. MARINE CORPS RESERVE UNIT A request to conduct a road race to be held on Sunday, November 14, 1982, starting at 9:00 a.m., utilizing the Rum Village road route was received from Captain John J. Brusca of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Unit, 1901 South Kemble Avenue, South Bend. It was noted that the appropriate Certificate of Insurance for the race was in order and was being submitted with the request. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Traffic Division for review and recommendation. APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS AND SIGN TITLE SHEET (CALVERT STREET REPAIRS PROJECT) Mr. Neil Shanahan, Manager of the Bureau of Public Construction, requested Board permission to advertise for the receipt of sealed bids for the Calvert Street Repairs Project. The title sheet for the project was also submitted for Board approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the request to advertise for bids and the title sheet were approved, with a bid date of October 4, 1982, established. APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the following traffic control devices were approved as recommended by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting: INSTALL SCHOOL, 20 SPEED LIMIT, WHEN CHILDREN PRESENT - Pleasant St. - Zone to be within the 2600, 2700 & 2800 blks.. REMOVE 20 MPH SPEED LIMIT -- 2629 and 2808 Pleasant St. REMOVE STOP SIGN - On Fisher at Olive. REMOVE STOP SIGN - On Dunham at Olive - S.W. corner only. REMOVE STOP SIGN - On Poland at Olive. APPROVE STREET LIGHT CHANGES - TWYCKENHAM BRIDGE Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, recommended removal of four 20,000 Mercury fixtures on the Twyckenham Bridge in conjunction with its renovation, and the installation of eight 22,000 Lumen High Pressure Sodium fixtures at a monthly cost of $28.00. It was noted that a savings of $2.20 per month would be realized with the above lighting changes. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the street lighting changes were approved. 1
