410 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 13, 1982 <br />as a result, left out information regarding conviction of felony/ <br />misdemeanor charges. Mr. Hill felt the application itself was <br />very clear concerning conviction of charges. He stated that Mr. <br />Taylor could always submit another application for Board con- <br />sideration making certain all criminal activity was listed as <br />requested. He stated that, since the Police Deaprtment record <br />check indicated three convictions, before the Board would even <br />consider Mr. Taylor's application, the Board members desired to <br />have copies of the arrest reports to review. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the recommendations to deny the above three taxi <br />drivers' licenses were approved, and the Clerk was instructed to <br />inform Mr. Ferri and Mr. Coleman of their right to a hearing <br />before the Board. Mr. Hill requested copies of the arrest reports <br />on Mr. Paul Taylor for review prior to the next Board meeting when <br />the Board would consider Mr. Taylor's request for appeal. Mr. <br />Kernan abstained from voting. <br />REQUEST REFERRED FOR ROAD RUN - U.S. MARINE CORPS RESERVE UNIT <br />A request to conduct a road race to be held on Sunday, November 14, <br />1982, starting at 9:00 a.m., utilizing the Rum Village road route <br />was received from Captain John J. Brusca of the U.S. Marine Corps <br />Reserve Unit, 1901 South Kemble Avenue, South Bend. It was noted <br />that the appropriate Certificate of Insurance for the race was in <br />order and was being submitted with the request. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the <br />request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and <br />the Police Traffic Division for review and recommendation. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS AND SIGN <br />TITLE SHEET (CALVERT STREET REPAIRS PROJECT) <br />Mr. Neil Shanahan, Manager of the Bureau of Public Construction, <br />requested Board permission to advertise for the receipt of sealed <br />bids for the Calvert Street Repairs Project. The title sheet for <br />the project was also submitted for Board approval. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the <br />request to advertise for bids and the title sheet were approved, <br />with a bid date of October 4, 1982, established. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the following traffic control devices were approved as <br />recommended by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting: <br />INSTALL SCHOOL, 20 SPEED LIMIT, WHEN CHILDREN PRESENT - <br />Pleasant St. - Zone to be within the 2600, 2700 & 2800 blks.. <br />REMOVE 20 MPH SPEED LIMIT -- 2629 and 2808 Pleasant St. <br />REMOVE STOP SIGN - On Fisher at Olive. <br />REMOVE STOP SIGN - On Dunham at Olive - S.W. corner only. <br />REMOVE STOP SIGN - On Poland at Olive. <br />APPROVE STREET LIGHT CHANGES - TWYCKENHAM BRIDGE <br />Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />recommended removal of four 20,000 Mercury fixtures on the Twyckenham <br />Bridge in conjunction with its renovation, and the installation of <br />eight 22,000 Lumen High Pressure Sodium fixtures at a monthly cost <br />of $28.00. It was noted that a savings of $2.20 per month would <br />be realized with the above lighting changes. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the street <br />lighting changes were approved. <br />1 <br />
