362 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />CEI Industries <br />230 Sumac Road, <br />Wheeling, Ill. <br />Built -Up Roof <br />Alternate #1 <br />AUGUST 2. 1982 <br />of Illinois, Inc. Bid was signed by George J. Cook, <br />Suite 202 non -collusion affidavit°was in <br />60090 order, and a 5% bid bond was <br />submitted.' <br />- Single -Ply System <br />No Bid <br />$199,100.00 <br />Mrs. Pfotenhauer advised that the bid of CEI Industries of Illinois, <br />Inc. did not include the proper bid security for an out-of-state <br />bidder. She advised that past policy has been to allow the bidder <br />48 hours in which to submit the proper bid security. Mr. Hill <br />noted that the bid bond was drawn on a Michigan surety and, since <br />CEI Industries was an out-of-state company, the bond must be <br />secured by an Indiana surety or a certified check must be submitted. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, a 48-hour time period was given to CEI Industries in <br />which to submit the proper bid security in order for the Board to <br />consider the bid. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, the above bids were referred to the Division of Transporta- <br />tion for review and recommendation. <br />OPENING AND AWARD OF BIDS - SALE OF CITY-OWNIED PROPERTIES <br />This was the date set for receiving sealed bids for the sale of <br />the following city -owned properties: <br />621 Columbia <br />629 East Broadway <br />1510 South St. Joseph <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South <br />Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be <br />sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />Mrs. Anna Ewing City -Owned Property: 621 Columbia <br />619 S. Columbia City's Offering Price: $250.00 <br />South Bend, Indiana Bid: 8250.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the bid°of Mrs. Ewing in the amount of $250.00 was accepted <br />and the matter referred to the Legal Department for drafting of the <br />appropriate purchase agreement. <br />Mr. Willie L. Cherry City -Owned Property: 629 E. Broadway <br />637 E. Broadway City's Offering Price: $240.00 <br />South Bend, Indiana Bid: $175.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr.. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, the bid of Mr. Cherry was tabled pending a review of <br />whether or not he is an adjacent property owner, in view of the <br />new state law which provides that city -owned property must be <br />offered for sale to adjacent property owners before selling same <br />to any other interested person. <br />Mr. Fidencio Bueno City -Owned Property: 1510 S. St. Joseph <br />210 E'. Haney City's Offering Price: $160.00 <br />South Bend, Indiana Bid: $ 80.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the bid of Mr. Bueno was rejected and the Clerk was <br />instructed to`submit a counter-offer to Mr. Bueno in the amount <br />of $125.00 for his consideration. <br />
