353 <br />REGULAR MEETING JULY 19, 1982 <br />REQUEST REFERRED TO CONDUCT LABOR DAY PARADE (DISCOVERY HALL) <br />A request was submitted by Gus Saros, Director of the Discovery <br />Hall Museum, for permission to conduct a Labor Day parade on <br />Monday, September 6, 1982, starting at 10:00 a.m., at <br />Tippecanoe Place and proceeding to Century Center. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting and the Police Traffic Division for review and <br />recommendation. <br />APPROVAL OF BLOCK PARTIES <br />Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting, recommended approval of the following block party <br />requests, subject to the maintenance of a 12-foot clear and <br />unobstructed emergency lane: <br />1300 block of East Washington Street <br />Wednesday, July 28, 1982, beginning at 5:30 p.m. <br />�. (rain date of July 29th). Requested by: Mr. <br />Richard H. Peltz, c/o Slutsky-Peltz Plumbing <br />CD 'D and Heating, 1216-18 West Washington. <br />Stanfield between Corby and Howard Streets <br />Saturday, July 31, 1982. Requested by: Arden <br />Davidson, 930 North Niles Avenue. <br />300 and 400 blocks of Parkovash <br />Sunday, August 8, 1982, starting at 10:00 a.m. <br />to 10:00 p.m. (rain date of August 15th). <br />Requested by: Mrs. Joyce Pinkerton, 410 Parkovash. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above block parties were approved subject to the <br />maintenance of the emergency lane as'recommended by Mr. Wadzinski. <br />APPROVAL OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting, recommended approval of the following traffic control <br />devices: <br />INSTALL NO PARKING ON THIS COURT - Riley Place. <br />INSTALL NO PARKING - N. side of Marshall from <br />Logan to alley (139') west of Logan. <br />REMOVE NO TURN ON RED - For Southbound Chapin <br />at Western. <br />INSTALL YIELD SIGN- On Chapin at.Western <br />(right turn lane). <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill <br />and carried, the above traffic control devices were approved. <br />FILE ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS <br />A list containing 74 lots ordered cleaned by the Director of <br />the Neighborhood Code Enforcement Office was submitted. It <br />was noted that property owners had been advised to clean up <br />the lots and had failed to do so. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the environmental <br />list was filed. Mr. Leszczynski noted that the Neighborhood <br />Code Enforcement crews had also cleaned 441 city -owned <br />lots in addition to the privately -owned lots. <br />
